Show us your moves this Sunday as we dive into the greatness that is Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
There will be the usual AIM chatroom set up tomorrow. Anyone interested in joining the few of us who will actually have the game is welcomed to do so. I will make a post of the chatroom name later along with the time. You do not have to have the game in order for you to join. Not sure if we'll have a Vent server set up but we can use AC's Vent server since his is still up and running. Alternatively, we can just hop on XBOX Live and chat through there. We can just load up Undertow or something since you can fit a bunch of people in one lobby. Make sure you post your Friend Codes once you get the game since the game has a separate FC.

At first the game seemed a little laggy online, but it was fine after the first round. Its really tough not being able to communicate at all... you can't even coordinate what stage you play on or invite friends who are online, and you can't see their online status unless they are specifically IN the WFC portion of the game. So if your friends are playing single player or whatever you won't know they are actually on Smash Bros. :/ You still need to call/IM them and say "hey join my game!" which is fucking retarded. But its smash so its fun as hell!
And those losses were because I was getting used to the new guys! (except the DK battle...that was just pathetic on my part.)

Is there a way to add people you've played with in a "friend of a friend's" match? Or do you still need to exchange codes with them?

Yup still gotta exchange codes. . . They should of added a community friend code. Puts you in a seperate room where you see everyone who has that code online.
And wth, Wifi options still has not showed up for me. I can't select to recieve stages or spectate.

Fun fun times yesterday haha. This game is even more chaotic than the last, and it was a blast to play with 4 people. I hope that the lag is a temporary thing though. Some of the matches were pretty smooth while others were just agonizing. I left after the game with the huge disconnect (Myself, Donkey, Crush and Naba on Pictochat... that was going great too haha) to play Adventure mode with my brother. Not too many characters left to unlock now. It also sucks that our communication was so limited. If I can find an easy way to use vent while playing on my TV, I'll definitely do it, "gdi" Nintendo. Other than that, I'm down for more today (no work today even, it was like a sign from God telling me to Smash haha) so let the epic battles continue!

Shit, apparently the only way to fix this problem is to erase all your Smash data from the Wii system menu. :( Which means you lose all your progress/unlocks too. You may just need to put up with not having the options unless you don't care about unlocking everything again.
On an unlock related note: How the hell do I access events past number 20? I beat 1-20 all on Normal difficulty, and I didn't get any more... I want Jigglypuff, dammit!

Well screw that! Unlocking the characters was a pain in the ass. No way I'm playing 450 matches again.
As for events after 20. Who else you have not unlocked? Cause after 20 there is events where you need to plays Ganondorf, Rob, Captain Falcon, and I think Wolf.

The only characters I'm missing now are Wolf, Ganondorf, and Jigglypuff.

I unlocked Wolf, Jigglypuff and Toon Link today. They were the last I needed. To make Jiggly show up, I think you do indeed have to finish the Adventure mode and THEN do event 20. I had finished event 20 as well and Jiggly didn't show. After finishing the Adventure mode I did event 20 again, I got the challenge after. Same with Toon Link for me, after I beat adventure mode, I beat Classic with Link and he showed up. For Ganondorf, try finishing Classic on Hard with Link or Zelda. Lastly, Wolf too is in the Adventure Mode, but I don't think you have to finish it to fight him. I should finally note that I got every character doing a total of less than 100 brawls. So there's no need to do like 400 to get them haha.

Yay! Nintendo fixed the Wifi options issue. I got'em now and did not have to delete my file. Awesome!

Is that how fast it moves with a normal connection? I'm missing out man. Anyways, I messed around with the stage creator a bit myself. I have on stage in particular i'm kind of fond of. The design is about as simple as it gets, but it will make for a lot of fun brawls. I'll see about sending it to one of you dudes since my internet is horse shit.

I played a couple hours ago with AoE and some others, and again, had to run to pick my sister up from work. So I was like "sorry to jet... but I'm in a hurry!" So my bad again for just up and leaving like I sometimes do, blame Nintendo or terrorism haha. Anyway though sweet games, and I'm always down Crush, BRAWLINNNN'.

D is the freakin beast when it comes to smash. Nobody beats him.
Protip: for DK's final smash, tap the buttons to the beat of the music and you do those big huge green shockwaves, otherwise its pretty useless.

Yeah was fun stuff D. Was me and my brother playing. I was the one dying a lot because my playstyle is very reckless and the button lag kinda fucks up my playstyle completely. Hoping either Nintendo fixes it or someone finds a remedy for it sometime soon. It's too bad there's no online text though. Wanted to throw Star Fox quotes at you so bad when my brother and I were playing Fox and Wolf just to have you pick Falco the next match.

Yeah, when lag happens it completely kills the game for me. I can't do smashes properly and my guy fails jumps, and forget about hitting the smash ball mid-air.

LOL yeah man I was thinking of being all Star Foxed out with my taunts but didn't have the time. Nintendo really did drop the ball with communication for online that's for sure. I also agree with you guys about the lag issues, it can really ruin things. An example is a special move or smash coming up a second too late or not happening at all =/ (PK Thunder that misses you because the command is received late? OWNED). Some matches turn out great though... it seems pretty random when the spikes hit. With that said, MAN UP NINTENDO.

Yeah, thats what I meant. If you just jam on the button rapidly or don't press it at all, its just a shitty radius, like on the video Scan posted.
