recently i was thinking of playing ffxi again, but i thought why continue to play it on my ancient ps2 so i thought of getting it for the 360. also the 360 is starting to have a lot of rpg's i want to play. so i looked in ads in the sunday paper and now im confused because theres 3 models. so i thought maybe you guys could help me. the arcade system is obviously appealing because it's dirt cheap but does it have a hard drive? if not can i buy one for cheap? theres a middle one i dont know what its called and theres the elite that looks sexy just because it's black but it costs the most. why does it cost more?

ps. i played castle crashers on my brothers 360 when i was house sitting for him and its awesome.

The Arcade 360 has no hard drive, the "Pro" 360 has a 60 gig hard drive standard now, although the older models had a 20 gig, some of those may still be out in stores. The "Elite" 360 has a 120 gig hard drive.

For FFXI you'll need about 9+ gigs of space to install it, just for reference.

I have it on good authority that Target is closing out their 20 gig HDD's for $24.95, so if you were to get a Arcade 360 ($199.99) and the hard drive you'd have what is essentially a "Classic Pro" xbox for about $225.

However the arcade 360 only has a wired controller and memory card included, and only standard composite video cables.

The best value right now is the Pro 60 gig, $299. It will come with the component cables to hook it to your HDTV, wired headset, wireless controller, ethernet cable. With the new dashboard update coming this fall you'll be able to copy full games to the hard drive to speed up load times, so having a large hard drive will be a big help.

The Elite comes with all the same stuff as the Pro, plus it includes an ethernet cable and 120 gig hard drive. And of course its black which is cool.

I know any regular USB keyboard works. I've never tired a wireless one on it before. But there is also the 360 Texter chatpad thingie for the controller which is pretty cool.
