What happens when Japan does their take on a TMNT cartoon?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=vGMfb60lc14

They totally fuck it up and turn it into some power rangers bullshit.

Lets step back a moment. TMNT is about Turtles who are Mutant Ninjas. This is already cool, bizarre, and interesting enough.

But no, Japan has to fucking throw in magic crystals and super power transformations and fucking GOD SAINT NINJA MUTANT whatever the fuck.

Oh, Japan. When will you learn?

Hmm... looks like it was fully indorsed by Mirage Studios and Fred Wolf. Also its a continuation of the original cartoon which wasn't hot cakes either, but yea this is far worse, why the hell Eastman and Laird allowed this I'll never know

QUOTE
In addition to the American series, a Japanese exclusive two-episode anime OVA series was made in 1996, titled Mutant Turtles: Choujin Densetsu-hen (ミュータントタートルズ超人伝説偏, Mutant Turtles: Choujin Densetsu-hen?). It featured the turtles as superheroes, who gained costumes and super powers with the use of "Muta-Stones," while Shredder, Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady gained super-villain powers with the use of a "Dark Muta-Stone." The show's characters resembled those in the original American animated series, but with very different personalities. The cartoon was aimed at a much younger audience, incorporating many elements of super sentai and superhero comics. The "saint" transformations in the first OVA episode are based on classic sentai themes, while the "metal" transformations in the second episode are derived from the Ssŭ Ling.

Oh my god, the lyrics to the closing song!

QUOTE
Where is the station?
Pizza is hot
I'm happy.
Love is incomprehensible
In other words, perhaps it's irrelevant
The city is in chaos
The turtles are out of control
Anyhow, somehow
The earth is still fine
Although it's patched up in pieces
Doing better than the future.

Oh, Turtles

Oh, Turtles
Oh, Turtles
Chew your gum properly
Dance joyfully and don't stop
Let's enjoy the pounding of our hearts
If we all learn to dance together
Even angels would dance in the sky
Dance joyfully and don't stop
Let the pounding of our hearts entertain us
If we all learn to dance together
Even angels would dance in the sky

Good GOD!! What the hell is with the stupid transformations? You don't mutate a mutant turtle, that would be redundant and needless...Lol at the japanese spin-offs. spinning.gif

Don't just blame the Japanese for that, the American toy line and original cartoon had their own version of the
"super" mutants

Weren't those just the normal turtles in like superhero pastiche costumes, like superman-esque or batman-esuqe getups? Not this preposterous power ranger bullshit.

Actually, this has nothing to do with the new CG movie. TMNT was awesome, I saw it just yesterday, and I liked it a LOT. Though I didn't actually go to a theatre to see it... boo.gif ...you'll get that later. >_>
