Well as some of you know, Advent Children is supposed to drop in a couple of days, at least that's what I read somewhere haha. But I went ahead and watched a fansub of the complete movie yesterday (If you'd like to know how, gimme a PM, I'll hook you up. beigebigrazz.gif). And I must say, this movie was crazy haha. I sure most of you remember how FF 7 ended... meteor...lifestream blah blah blah Red XIII running with some pups after the credits. The part with Red XIII is how the movie opens up to give you that satisfying sense of continuation. I won't spoil any of the movie (besides that Red XIII bit...), but I will say that it turned out really well. The story itself is pretty good, though a wee bit confusing sometimes. The main draw of the movie by far is its fight scenes. If you took a shot for everytime your jaw drops, or say beigebigeek.gif "Oh my God!" Youd be GONE haha. Also, of course, the movie is such a visual juggernaut, you get a true sense of what the world of FF 7 is supposed to look like, and its characters too. Mmmmm Tifa... *cough* ANYWAY, it's a real cool movie and the voice acting too is very well done (Marlene is so damn cute haha). Overall, it's good shit. Go see it. I'm out. sonicrun.gif

it's good to see that advent children didn't follow the path of the ill-fated animated movie.. i've been a big fan of the older final fantasies, especially 2, 3 & 7...i've heard good things about the development of advent children, so i'm inclined to check it out; but i'm more-so interested in the re-make of final fantasy 7 for the ps3 based on the advent children style...lol, we truly live in interesting times..

btw, when is advent children due for release?

It's been going around BitTorrent for a few days, but the MPAA has been watching it like a hawk.

Current EBGames release - November 29th

HOWEVER! I am also hearing there is a strung high possibility it will get pushed back to January.

Also, for those who care about Kingdom Hearts 2, also pushed back from December 2nd to March 3rd.

hahaha and they expect people to NOT download it and WAIT for it to come out? when the movie is and has been available for 5 months (in january)? they can't get off their asses and ship it on time like a bunch of disorganized assholes, and I'm supposed to refrain from downloading the movie and pay them money for being months late on the release?

they can go fuck themselves. hangsmiley.gif

you gotta have the skills to pay the bills.

http://tokyotosho.com/index.php?cat=0&page=5

go here, and hit ctrl-F and type "Advent". you'll see it. they also have a bunch of other cool stuff. I also recommend checking out Nobuo Uematsu's (final fantasy music writer) metal band. They play metal versions of various final fantasy music. They're called "The Black Mages"

I finally got to see it over the weekend too.

Normally I like to call bullshit on over-the-top preposterous action sequences, but in THIS movie's case it was so awesome and well-done that it nullifies any argument to the contrary. Every action scene was superb, and great camerawork so you could actually tell what was going on all the time. Tifa's fight with Loz, the whole Bahamut thing, and the "Final Boss" were especially radical.

What the hell was up with that Denzel kid, though? Why was he even in the movie? I thought since they played him up so much, maybe he was like the reincarnation of Sephiroth or some kind of important role. But it was just "oh noes i'm geostigma zombie... oh wait i'm better now." The whole story was a little dry, but doesn't matter because the movie is just eyecandy and fanservice anyways, you could't ask for much more. And really, only fans would be able to enjoy it fully, because during the non-action parts, I was thinking to myself "Damn, if I had never played FF7 before, I would have ABSOLUTELY no idea what is going on now." The movie just assumes you know everything that is going on with Cloud and Tifa, and then all the sudden it starts throwing these random characters at you (Yuffie, Cid, etc) for no good reason, mouseketeer role-call style.

The only real problem, though, is that I will no longer accept any less quality from ANY future videogame-based movie, OR Final Fantasy game for that matter. Every moment of FFXII should feel like FF7:AC was or I want my $50 back. beigelaugh.gif

As a FF fan, its chocobo.gif chocobo.gif chocobo.gif chocobo.gif 's out of 5, for sure.

If I didn't know any better I'd think this thing was done with real actors.

As for a story, one would be too engrossed in all the eye candy to notice any kind of "story".

Downloading it from the BitTorrent page right now. My cousin was over today and he said it wasn't coming out until next year, uness he' s wrong, that means they delayed it again. Hopefully, I'll be able to view it this weekend. Also, I hope its in english or has subtitles so I wont have to find another one.

Just finished watching the movie, great stuff. As mentioned before if you don't know anything about the first game you'll sure as hell be lost here. I think the dubbing on my version was a little off and made it a bit hard understanding the paper thin story at times. But as Crushinator said the over the top fight scenes are incredible.
If your really dying to know what the story is about here it is in two sentences.

The point of FFVII:AC was to explain the origins of baptisms and why we still do them. This movie more then explains why, and I should say this now, Cloud is SSJ John the baptist...

Edit-- Oh yeah one little thing that really bothered me in the movie was Bahamut having a colgate smile. I mean wtf? He' the king of wyverns for christ sakes. His grill should be in the dictionary next to the word menacing. Not on some Crest Billboard.

Well when you consider it, he IS just summoned off fo materia. Perhaps every summoning is just like the one before that and he always comes out pretty and perfect ;)

Unless he brushes his teeth in his free time.

Edit: We do baptisms to avoid Geostigma?

That movie was pretty sexy...I have a copy of it on my computer. I almost cried when I saw the old gang reunite to kick some ass. It was beautiful... cry2.gif
