Had time to give the demo a whirl.
'It is the way of man to make monsters. It is the nature of monsters to destroy their makers.' Alma goes here.

Graphics: straight up on med for me ran well, looked fucking awesome.
Sound: haunting as always.
Guns: solid in 1, even better in 2. Laser rifle, assault rifle, smg, sniper, and combat shotty in demo. + powered armor has twin miniguns and quad rocket launcher. (that thing owns)
'Holy fuck what was that?!?': Built upon and improved from first. Demo had me jump several times and was just freaking creepy.
Controls: No more leaning, primary combat involves knocking over objects and using them for cover, hiding behind doors, cars, so forth. Demo levels did not allow for much maneuver for the AI so could not judge their ability to flank and what not. Did not notice them yelling for help and what not. They did appear to not be able to zero in on you if they did not see you kill one of their buddies. As such they inspect their friend see wtf is going down (when in another room etc).

Based on demo, this will be another solid FPS and great addition to the FEAR series. Alma is back, and as pissed off as ever.

I will try to grab some screenies from the demo and post em soon.

I left it as I found it settings wise. This engine seems quite forgiving however as Woend is playing the demo as well.

Played the demo on ThreeShizzle pretty scary. The part with the flickering lights and the ghost really freaked me out. Then in the Subway tunnels I turned around in one of the service tunnel and the chick was behind me, scraed the shiz out of me. The robot thing seemed all right. All in all it was all right, I wasn't really sold.

Yay for being sick, I managed to plug my way through the game. Probably around 8-10 hours gameplay depending how hard you plow through. Lot more of a shooter this time around, far less 'boo' and scary moments. Some of the best were in the demo like the school. That said I still enjoyed the game. Some interesting story development this go around as the time frame overlaps partially over the first fear (you get to see the big boom from another perspective). Two powered armor parts are in the full game, nothing diff than demo. Shoot things, try not to die etc, nothing real fantastic beyond having retarded firepower to kill grunts. One thing added in that I really do not recall from demo is stuff latching on to you. You have to spam your melee combat button to remove them or they rip your face off. Alternatively you force a weapon to opponents head and pull the trigger. Not a lot of these sequences though certain mobs can trigger em on attacks.

The biggest 'wow, wtf?' moment had to be the ending. More or less left room for expansion/fear 3, however it was not what I was expecting to happen.
Below is a shortened HD ver of the ending, if you do not want it spoiled do not click the fucking link.

Indeed. I knew something odd was going on as the game progressed and the way Alma acted with you. However I was generally more concerned with not being around her as much as possible. I do not recall her talking much in Fear 1 and its expansion beyond the screams and they took my babies. Well this time around she does say things. Hearing her say 'I hate you!' in an angry voice while she strips the flesh from someone is not something one likes to hear. They really went for a whole mind fuck with the game instead of pure horror shooter. In ways I like it a lot, in others the classic fear scaring the shit out of me every 5 min was better. It is just a different game in a sense. Solid shooter for sure.
