This will be out later this week and I am pretty hyped to get it. Soul Calibur is my all time favorite fighting game and this one looks to be even better. We used to have SC nights where a bunch of friends would show up and proceed to get slaughtered by Bryn and myself. I don't know how many hours we logged in versus mode, I know the matches would get up into the triple digits. I think we will get this on XBox as most of the reviews favor that version, the GC controller just feels wrong with this game. Besides Spawn is on the XBox!

I am also jazzed for this release. I loved SC on the DC, and I have been getting into SC2 in the arcade in the last few weeks, to kinda warm up for the home version.
I liked to play Voldo and Nightmare on the DC, but on the arcade SC2 I'm starting to grow fond of Astaroth, so I will probably try to redefine my play style to be him. Of course Spawn might turn out to be real cool too (I'm getting the Xbox version as well, obviously.) -------------------- |

Ivy pwnz j00. Anyway, I'm getting the GC version. Don't have an X Box, Heiachi's whack, and I've played the GC demo of SC2 and I didn't have any real problems. Plus Link has the best Special weapons of the 3.

I'm in a tight money situation, so I won't really be able to afford getting SC2 on release. I'll likely pick this up around Christmas or so. The game looks really good and seemed to play fairly well with the GC controller. I wish Spawn was in the GC version as well tho. ;_;

Never played the first one, so I'll have to pick this one up soon. I've heard nothing but good things about it though.

Uber snuggie breeches? hehe ![]() I was fairly proficient with most of the female characters in the first game, but Sophitia was by far my favorite. Protector of good, defender of light, and certain death to under handed, treacherous pirates. ![]() |

AWESOME!
Let the throwdown begin!!! oh, and I won't be getting SC2 'cause I can't fight worth beans. Although, if it had online capabilities, I would get it, just so I could kick Icarus's ass. http://www.highschoolgamers.com/downloads/...nkeyvsrobot.asf -------------------- ![]() |

the legend lives ~ the folks at Namco did a good job, the animation is crisp & fluid; of course, i was skeptical about Link's role ~ but after several games worth, Link has possibilities.. =. he is a true testament for all Link fans out there, he can even shift weapons ~ besides the sword, Link has boomerang, bombs & bow with arrows.. =}
more to come, Voldo is up next to get some.. ;p |

I agree. I never played SC before until this but I decided while picking up FZero..what the heck. The game is so sawsome...and I thought SSBM was a nice game...haha.
I have already unlocked some characters and some stages. The story based play is a little challenging. The get 20 hits in before the time is up was a bit tricky...but I finally got it. Just a matter of learning the combos and timing attacks good. Sweet stuff. I liked the addition of Link. He looks so much bigger in SC2...heh. ![]() -------------------- Level

I had a few problems with that 20 hit stage, but then I remembered what Taki, boy is she fast.
Right now I'm at the "take massive damage when struck againest the wall and floor" stage and its a pain. |

This game is so badass, I love it!
![]() Spawn is a pretty cool character but seems a bit overpowered so far. He has become one of my main characters along with Cervantes and Astaroth. They also really improved Mitsurugi's attacks in my opinion. Weapon Master mode is great fun, and you get to purchase additional weapons for all the fighters to use. I tried Necrid and he has some potential, but I hate Charade, he just looks dumb. ![]() By all means, turn on Japanese language for the fighters, the english just sounds bad on some characters. We only had a few hours last night to play this but we got pretty far in Weapon Master, opened up Cervantes, Charade, Yoshimitsu, and bought quite a few new weapons and opened a few more stages. Impressive game. ![]() |

Yes this game truly embodies everything a sequal should be. I own the GC version and Link is so freaking cool. Pretty easy to pick up too. My brother has the X-box version and spawn is a monster. He is so fast and powerful it not even funny. The way he spins his axe, it alawys keeps me guessing like "dam, where is he gonna hit!?" He kinda reminds me of Cervantes with all the powerful moves he has. Im not really impressed by necrid. But I do enjoy how They have added new moves to everybody. I also got the artbook when i got the game and man, do those pics own. I just finally got the soul calibur for nightmare, it lokks so freaking cool! Right now my 3 main are Nightmare,Mitsurugi, and link. I also plan on getting the arcade stick to so as to own all my friends in this game. So they dont complain, I might end up getting 2

The crazy voices are the BEST part of the game (besides the fighting)!!! I crack up at the different quotes from the characters...for GOD SAKES keep it in english, its worth the laughs! Anyways, just woke up from a 8 hour SC2 and F-zero binge with my buddies last night so...yeah those games rule, 'nuff said. ![]() -------------------- |

I heard that Link was exclusive to GCN, is that true? I doubt that Nintendo would agree to let one of its characters into a MS platform...

SC2 isn't out in the UK yet but i was playign it like crazy when i got tickets to the Playstation Experience (a sony expo in England) and really liked it. I've also played the GC version (a friend imported) and love them both. I think the PS2 version though is a lot worse a conversion (some messed up lag on buttons in it) but yeh i adore this game. I always suck at beat-em ups but i still refuse to button-bash.
My fave characters have to be link, Cervantes (my main char from DC, i know people say he's sorta too good...) and Rafale. I suck with Rafale but i just love him for humour... one of the PS2 pods had language on Italian..... he sounds so retarded lol -------------------- |

Yes, Link is GC exclusive. The game is exactly the same across all 3 platforms with the exception of one character. GC gets Link, Xbox gets Spawn, and PS2 gets Heihachi. And damn, the Xbox version loads so much faster than the GC one its not even funny! No waiting at all between fights or selecting characters. -------------------- |

I highly doubt you could kick my ass. and let's not forget the real reason you're not getting this... the absence of your favourite furry love buddy, Sonic. Sorry dude... as fictional as the story behind Soul Calibur is, there's no room for a flamboyant hedgehog and his gang of woodland buddies. |

I am certain I could. In fact, I will be in the area in a few weeks so we could actually see.
Sonic could easily dominate each and every so called fighter in that puny little game. Spin dash, homing attack, smart-ass comments, the list goes on and on. Sheesh, even Tails could kick some ass, and that little fruit invented the word fairy. Did you pick it up yet? You'ld better watch out or your precious elfin friend might mess his hair! -------------------- ![]() |

Sorry, but there is no 'bounce on bad-guy's head until little fluffy bunny pops out' move in Soul Calibur.
let's face it.. your hero couldn't fight his way through an old-folks home. Which incidently, is where he belongs. |

That's not even funny. All this time I thought that mighty Xbox took forever to load stuff like the wonderful PS1 and PS2 did...loading........please wait......loading some more. Well, the different characters might give people incentive to buy the other version, but not me! I think Link is so cool though. Did you get the GCN or the XBox version? The only game I have ever seen load on the GCN that I have is Madden. It loads at the start of the game and whenever a game starts. I have not played a fighting style game that could keep my attention like SSBM did in a long long time. SC2 is great. I am suprised I did not see SC1 before! ![]() -------------------- Level

The loading on the GC version isn't bad by any means, and I didn't even notice the speed until I got the Xbox ver. But after playing it on Xbox, I get all impatient with the GC now

We only have the Xbox version so I can't make any comparisons to others. It loads very quickly however and I am very pleased with it. Does anyone have the PS2 version? I would like to know how Heihachi plays with this style of fighting. Tekken was always a little too stiff on gameplay to me.

Spawn's bio just simply restates his origin (Al Simmons, gov't assassin, yadda yadda we all know about spawn). The reason why he's in SC2 is because Malebolgia (his boss in Hell) requires the Soul Calibur for some evil purposes, so he sends Spawn back in time to get it. Since there's now ay to get back to the present, Spawn must complete the mission or be stuck in SC2-world forever. After you beat Inferno, Spawn grasps the Soul Edge, but realizes its corrupting power and says something like "Hah what kind of a fool do you take me for, Malebolgia?", and then he is transported back to the modern world, but he doesn't have the sword with him. I dunno if it means Malebolgia took it or what...but that's his story in a nutshell. -------------------- |
