~it's been awhile since i posted one of these; to those that know me, one of my passions is music - the power of sound is an amazing thing if composed right...since there are lots of new faces present, me thinks this is a good way of learning everyones' particular tastes..
keep in mind* - 1 tune per post, & if you wish to comment on your selection, then feel free to do so - music is known to bring worlds together; ok, time to start this one off proper.. ![]() kamaya painters : endless wave ~an impressive instrumental european dance track that cannot help but fill one's soul with thoughts of crystal dreams; very inspirational for dancing.. |

I've been in the mood for Nevermore a lot lately, particularly this song. It inspires me on a tremendous level.
Band: Nevermore Song: Insignificant Ours is not to question the reasons why Crippled indecision repeats the path I once denied Insignificant, am I ? The color of sundown,of crimson sky The beauty that breaks down And gives the day unto the night And then one day you'll realize Just a speck in the spectrum Insignificant,am I ? And then one day you'll realize The beauty that breaks down never learns the reason why scan my horizon as blue turns to black the sky is gone again and all beneath are born to die insignificant,am I ? And then one day you'll realize Just a speck in the spectrum Insignificant,am I ? And then one day you'll realize The beauty that breaks down never learns the reason why *** As the lyrics and title both suggest, it tells a tale of one questioning his validity in the world and the obvious lack of fairness between the roles of individuals in this world. He is a pawn, just as the majority of the human race is, to some presumably higher power. The previously mentioned power can be human, as many of us are just pawns to political games and we never truly learn why these things happen, we just hear petty lies in forms of propoganda. It can also be taken in a spiritual sense where one questions his role in the cosmic sense, in reference to the classic ideal of fate. Regardless, this song appeals to me greatly because, by nature, I am a person who has always questioned everything, probably to an annoying extent. If I'm denied something, I'll always ask for the reason, and it has to be just. This is partially why I decided to persue philosophy as a career choice -- which is, in essense, a search for the truth. "Philosophy" literally translates into "Love of Wisdom" from ancient Greek. It also inspires me on a fictional level. I can almost see cutscenes (Heh, too much FFXI) of some fantastic tale every time I hear it, most likely because the music is so enchanting. I just wish I could put it all together, but I always see little bits and pieces. Anyway, that's my song ![]() -------------------- "So this Zealot comes to my door, all glazed eyes and clean reproductive organs, asking me if I ever think about God. So I tell him I killed God. I tracked God down like a rabid dog, hacked off his legs with a hedge trimmer, raped him with a corncob and boiled off his corpse in an acid bath. So he pulls an alternating-current taser on me and tells me that only the Official Serbian Church of Tesla can save my polyphase intrinsic electric field, known to non-engineers as 'the soul.' So I hit him. What would you do?" -- Warren Ellis, Transmetropolitan
