Sunday, October 3rd is Josh's birthday - I haven't been a really good friend to him as of late, and it's been on my mind all day, and I just wanted to share a message to him on the eve of his day. I hope you all join me in wishing him well on his birthday. Bear with me on this...

Happy birthday, Josh - happy birthday to my best friend, someone who changed my life, showed me how to smile again, showed me how to feel good again, showed me what is important and what isn't. The only friend who did not give up on me, a hero in the eyes of my kids, as well as myself, an amazing person who directs so much energy and gets so much pleasure from helping others and making others laugh and feel good. This year is a milestone for you, and while I know you are not where you hoped you would be at this point in your life, I hope you can take a step back and see how others see you, look through their eyes - you'll see respect, and enjoyment and caring and love - you'll see how you directly impact others in such a positive way - you'll see how many people like you, love you, need you in their lives.

You've brought so much to my children and myself - I only wish I could return it, and can only try as hard as I can every day. I know I fail so much, so often, but I try, and I never give up, and that is because of you, and what you taught me.

Thank you for being my friend, thank you for all the caring you've shown me and my kids, thank you for your generosity to so many people, thank you for sharing your family with myself and my children the way you have.
