As many of you are already aware of, the new West Tower quest introduced a way to add percents to your weapons, any weapon that is(expect Sranks).
20 PD= +5% 1 Photon Sphere= +30% The amount you can add to a weapon is not capped(100% is natural max). If you have 9 Photon spheres you can add +90% to three different attributes. With the in-game dupe bug that cannot be fixed(it's a natural bug in the game and can be done offline) this allows any gamer to alter ANY weapon they own with 100% to 3 different attributes. Using the in game dupe bug one can exploit this quest and create overpowered weapons, which aren't part of PSOs natural drop list(unless your the type of person who can beat the odds and win the lotto twice in a row). Anyway, these weapons hurt the teamwork aspect of PSO and class balance. If anyone has played PSO ver1&2 you know the effect these weapons have on the community. So on behalf of Apocalypse Tribe DO NOT USE these weapons online in ANY Apocalypse Tribe game room. I don't think there is any long standing AT member here who would disagree with keeping these weapon out of an AT game. It drains the fun out of PSO. Offline is your own business, so do as you please, but online your only hurting whatever dignity PSO has left as an online game. |

I think in someways, for the greater part of the online PSO community, this is already the case. Out of boredom and lack of c-mode teams, I joined several random open games yesteday, just for the hell of it, with these results: Team 1 set my entry pipe in a smasher and greeted me with a chorus of LOLZ. Team 2 & 3 were talking about the duping method & trading, hitting me with trade windows full of the usual uber rares as soon as I arrived in town, with no preliminaries. Teams 4 & 5 that I actually played in were populated with people that used overpowered weps able to wipe out enemies before you could even get into the room & forces that have absolutely no idea how to play a force. There was no conversation outside of trade proposals, and no evidence of teamwork of anykind. I might have meandered a bit off topic there, but my point is that, yes soon these new overpowered weps will be everwhere, but I don't think its really going to drag the general community down any further than it already is, and won't effect AT games at all. The AT community is based on people that enjoy playing PSO specifically for the aspects of teamwork and comradarie, and I have little doubt that anyone here would bother with using any of these new jacked up weps in one of our games. |
