No I don't have a Wii and I don't have Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. But all the hype I've been hearing about this game really has me amped up to play it. So I remembered that I still had Echos for Gamecube and that I hadn't beaten it yet. So I popped that puppy in and I was totally lost.
I didn't know what I was suppose to do, so I remembered I had hint system turned off. Turned it back on and bam back on track! Of course I still had to figure out how exactly I was suppose to get to my destination which took about 30 mins. Finally I figured it out and before I knew it I was blasting me some Space Pirates. I was in this really cool High tech looking place that really reminds me of some of the places I saw in the Metroid Prime 3 Corruption videos I'd seen online. I ran into this crazy ass floating ball that shot me with something and my screen goes all hazy, a bunch of wierd letters pop out at the bottom of the screen and then I see it says on the top press L + R + B to reboot. I do so and I'm back to normal and my visor indicates that all my functions are back online. ... FREAKING AWESOME. Okay, I know I may be a little too excited over this but man, I just wanna say Metroid owns and I wish I had corruption. -------------------- "Brotherhood asked for no friendship, only loyalty. Controls are surprisingly good. It takes some getting used to at first.
In MP1&2, you can lock on enemies and fire away. In MP3, you can set it so that you can freely aim while you have an enemy locked on. I guess its sorta like the "lock-on colossus" button in Shadow of the Colossus. It feels weird at first but I got the hang of it after awhile. It helps if you're trying to target a specific part. The controls are great for the grapple lasso & beam (they're 2 different things). It's basically like fishing with the nunchuck. You lock on a latchable object, then you flick the nunchuck forward and out comes the grapple lasso/beam. Quickly pulling it back lets you yank out shields from enemies, pull debris out the way, and pull switches (there's probably more stuff to do with the grapple). It's really satisfying. Turning on certain switches are pretty cool too. There are switches where you grab onto a latch, pull the wiimote back to pull on it, turn it, then push it back in to complete the operation. As cool as that is, there are times that its unresponsive. Not really that big of a deal though. Only problem I have is that you have to have the wiimote pointed at the TV at all times. The camera is dependent on where you're pointing. So to walk straight, you have to point the reticle on the middle of the screen, otherwise you find yourself looking down or turning when you don't want to. I guess I need to play a bit more. -------------------- |
