They need to get that fixed ASAP. This can cause a huge backlash. Getting banned for playing the game normally?
Somewhat similarly, Blizzard got lots of heat earlier in the year for suspending one of the top guilds in the world after the guild got world first Lich King kill. A bug broke the encounter and made it easier. The bug was caused by normal gameplay. But Blizzard, suspended the guild for 72 hours and took away their world first kill.
