You can also get the Striker of Chao if you have a lone Branch of Paku Paku. After the quest, take the Branch (I dunno if it exactly has to be equipped or not) and go to the Medical Center. Inside, you should find a warp that leads to an empty Ruins area. Now just stand in a certain spot with Branch equipped and something special should happen. ;)

Layrinn turned into Sil Dragon last night and killed my FO 4 times. I got caught out in the open and 'Rinn destroyed me with the Ice breath.
