~at last, it comes : Soul Reaver 3 - Defiance
11.18.03 ~omgoodness.. Oo if the date of release for this one holds true, then all my other choices must be put on the backburner.. i cannot rush this upcoming experience ~ time will stand still, the clouds shall part - & my return to Nozgoth will be of priority.. >=) ~the visuals look very impressive; i'm a fan for the series, the 2nd being my favorite thus far - the ambience is both alluring & mysterious, held together by the rich story of formidable beings - vampires, mortals & magicians alike.. =D if you like gothic/horror type games, then this is truly a must.. ... ~can you tell i like this series yet? ;) |

~you are right, the combat was the primary focus of sr2 ~ it looked to be a decision to give what the fans wanted; a corporate decision, whether or not i'll agree with it remains up for debate.. ;p
*ponders* well, keep in mind that the only reason that sr2 ended up that way is because of a time deadline; the team that designed this game has to redo the graphics engine from scratch.. Oo the game originally had plans to be on DC, but since the DC ended ~ the team had to make do with the switch.. all these technicalities held them back from incorporating all their ideas that they wanted to include in sr2.. =. ~i agree that there are elements to sr1 that be unparalleled - like you say, the portals.. Oo when i first saw that, i stared in awe *no joke* that was perhaps the neatest thing i had ever seen.. ... that, & the phasing between spectral & mortal realms.. =) all in all, the new engine is set - & the team can finally build all the extras they promised before-hand.. ^^ i liked the combat system of sr2, but i also favored the puzzle solving skills of sr1 ~ something i feel, perhaps they'll get it right this time around - a balance of the 2; but most importantly, is the story.. i must have played through sr2 & finished it more than 4+ times to finally understand the ending.. Blood Omen 2 also helped in the process; a story like this demands a decent finish.. =. word has it that this is the end of the series, i surge with excitement as to what the final fate awaits for both Kain & Razael.. ![]() |
