Yes, happy turkey day.

I so do enjoy partaking in the insidious festivities revolved around the subjugation of another race. I wonder what the Native Americans are doing on their reservations right now?

I don't mean to spoil anyone's fun, but let us not eat the night away in ignorance.

Happy Turkey Day.

"So this Zealot comes to my door, all glazed eyes and clean reproductive organs, asking me if I ever think about God. So I tell him I killed God. I tracked God down like a rabid dog, hacked off his legs with a hedge trimmer, raped him with a corncob and boiled off his corpse in an acid bath. So he pulls an alternating-current taser on me and tells me that only the Official Serbian Church of Tesla can save my polyphase intrinsic electric field, known to non-engineers as 'the soul.' So I hit him. What would you do?" -- Warren Ellis, Transmetropolitan

I wonder what the Native Americans are doing on their reservations right now?

I can tell you with certainty that they are enjoying a fine Thanksgiving with their friends and families. Contrary to Hollywood's generalizations, Native American's are not an alien race, stoic and wise on their Reservations, waiting to rise up and retake America. Native Americans are just like everyone else, they enjoy watching Survivor, going to movies, shopping, driving sport utility vehilcles, and being near their loved ones. Of course there are a few who generally dislike "white" people, the majority of them do not have a strong hatred of non-natives. The few who do feel apathy for whites do so because of the racism present in the areas directly bordering their lands.

Native Americans do not hate america and it's traditions. That is a myth perpetuated by Hollywood.

In Canada it was at least.

As for the Native American thing, there are so many of us Americans with at least SOME Native American blood in them.

Most holidays are a "subjugation" of a race or religion. For example, St. Patrick's Day is a celebration of the day Catholicism was brought to Ireland, part of that meant murdering the Celtic Pagans who didn't convert. Christmas has stolen aspects of Paganism to pass them off as its own, such as the Yule log and the Mistletoe tradition. Yule is a Pagan holiday generally celebrated a few days before December 25th.

I'm sure most people view any holiday not so much as a celebration, but as a day off work/school and an excuse to see their family. Don't put down something for its origin, just be grateful for what it means. Thanksgiving may have come from what you stated, but we celebrate it as a day to give thanks.
