oh come on Crushinator!
The graphics on PSO aren't great anyway. They were pretty N64 to begin with.

I do have to agree with Vitamin D about PSO DS though. If it does come out. Case closed. I'd sell plasma to get the money for that. Funny, I have no idea why though. hahaha... There'd be no keyboard so we couldn't type. The DS has a mic so theoreticaly we could voice chat, but that seems pretty slim to me. Shit, where did this PSO DS rumor even start? What would be new about the game? Would it be a PSO ep. 4 or something?

PSO had pretty crappy graphics for a GameCube game, yes, but it was one of the top tier (graphically) Dreamcast games. And DS is nowhere near DC's league of graphic power.

If they could implement voice chat with the DS's mic that would be great, but first nintendo would have to take it ONLINE. Otherwise you are just going to be sitting in a room with all your other DS buddies.

I think there is no real "rumor" of a DS PSO, but there was a rumor for a GBA version, which of course was total bullplop. I think at one point they may have been considering a version of the EP3 card game for GBA, but never a real PSO game.

Hmm what can I say? It's a gorgeous piece of work! Well gotta be careful with it compared to other handhelds. I picked up Lumines and Dynasty Warriors for it, and probably Ridge Racers soon. Also got a 512 mb stick, the very min. for the hardcore! (I'd have gone 1 gig if there were any available locally) Though the 32meg included with the value pack is quite sufficent just for game saves.

Anywho, the screen is just gorgeous! (though I did end up with one dead pixel) Speakers itself are just okay, comparable to the DS but projects much louder. The analog nub itself isn't too bad, pretty nice to have actual analog control vs using the touchscreen. (though I adapted to it pretty well for Mario64DS) Now the design for UMDs are a tidbit retarded as they're designed without a gate. (Meaning the disk itself is exposed :/ whats the point of the encasing then!?) Not a good point for something portable. I was expecting similar to MDs as those were practically invincible.

...I'll add more when I get back from an Errand. beigebiggrin.gif

There's a rumour of a big bug with the unit...if it's plugged in and you pull the cord out accidently, there's a chance the DS will never power on again.

I did that the other day and had no problems with it. It may have been a certain batch of DS' that did it.

Also another defect of the PSP came to light with the bad square button, which was a deliberate design, cause sony was to cheap and the ceo basicaly told those with complants to f off.

beigelaugh.gif Yeah, happened at my house too, because the dogs ran under the table, and knocked the unit down which was charging - disconnecting it at the time. Works fine. Really nice unit, I think.

I read somewhere that Nintendo is looking at online via wireless routers? as in...I have a wireless router and card for my laptop - somehow this will be the route they take to go online in a "real" way, vs. the 100 ft rule?

hah hah we have that problem here as well. You will be in the middle of an intense battle in KOTOR 2 or something and the dogs will charge through the living room, raging the controller cables and pulling out the cable release. beigelaugh.gif

About the DS, the staff at the local Gamestop mentioned something about the stylus eventually scratching up the screen. There are screen protectors available so I guess that would be a wise investment. You may want to hold out for an official screen protector though, the Pelican brand seems to generate some complaints. Could also check the import protectors at PlayAsia.

hrm.. kyori... Having both would be fun as hell. Although, I just can't seem to bring myself to buying either for a few months (or longer) until they get a better set of games for both.
I know I sound like a broken record here, but the list for the DS is horrible. Still is, a month later and there is nothing coming out that I am evern remotely interested in for quite awhile. Hell, even the PSP's release games aren't that much better! At least there are more than five games though.
How does the PSP feel? Is it comfortable?

I never knew about a PSO EP3 rumor for the GBA. That would have been cool. EP3 is totally a game for the lunch break (sometimes I play my GBA outside during lunch when I am at work).

Doesn't the PSP have a built-in wireless set up like the DS?

To wrap up: Animal Crossing DS - online - AT Community - my town name: Apocalypsevilleburgington .. um.... City. Coming this september.

Alright continuing the next day!

I actually should have said that the analog is a bit far but still works. Holding the PSP itself isn't too bad. HOWEVER! I was one of the really unfortunate ones that got a unresponsive Square button so my placement in general is a bit uncomfortable, like currently trying to play Ridge Racers and when I want to brake it doesn't happen :/ But aside from that, RRacers is one beautiful game :D Not to mention it also includes tracks from the previous games. It's most likely one of the best Ridge Racers to date. And welcome back to the true race queen, Reiko Nagase! Though to note, Rena in R:Racing wasn't bad but Ai in RRV was urgh IMO.

Now for Lumines, it could possibly be the next tetris for folks. (a gateway game I mean, like what tetris did for the Gameboy) Very easy to figure out and completely addicting. My younger sister, who's not much of a gamer, really enjoys it and has currently been beating out my high scores since I've neglected it to play my DS. The soundtrack for Lumines is quite mindblowing too, well if you're into the stuff that Rez had and more so. Rock on Mizuguchi! Look forward to Meteos on the DS gang!

And finally, Shin Sangoku Musou! (Dynasty Warriors) All the moves and music made the leap but no dialouge :/ But the battle voices did made it intact though. Seems to be based of Dynasty Warriors 3 to note. Visuals itself aren't too hot, but you do see a somewhat impressive amount of soldiers on the field. No huge battlefields this time either, but instead they're done in sections. Which does add a little bit more of strategic movement. Anywho, my enjoyment with this title hasn't been too high due to my retarded Square button. But being able to kill chinese men on the go is a great option :D

Now for the media options! The picture viewer and movie player are quite nice. Image display quality is pure clarity, and the movies in widescreen itself is fantastic. The MP3 player is also pretty nice, and simple to use to boot. Now for actual usage itself: You'd hook the PSP up through a usb/firewire sorta cable used with sony electronics. (In my lucky case, I had my MD player.) Once you hook it up, your PC will recognize the PSP as a portable hard drive. (Yes, if you wanted you could use this as a jump/flash drive too! provided you have a adequate sized memory stick) Then it's just simple drag and drop for the images and mp3s. Movies on the other hand must be in MP4 format, which most likely means a lot of reencoding for current files you have on hand. The tools out there (both third party and official) are actually very easy to use and do a good job about it, but not of the most efficent quality. Still it's quite nice how I have GITS 2nd gig 18 and FMA 51 on my PSP :D

Also about the startup, its changes background color depending on the month and if you want you could also change it's BG as well! I haven't bothered to figure it out yet however. (Hell, I still need to figure out and find wallpapers for my new cellphone!) The PSP also tells you how much battery life is left in a good estimate of time and if the source is external or internal :D A big plus compared to the DS IMO. Also to note, save game files have gotten even more fancier now. Remember how silly the filesizes were on PS2 saves because of the animations? Guess what? PSP saves have their own background image, animation and possibly even BGM! (Dynasty warriors is the only culprit all that matches all 3)

Oh and to answer a previous question, yes, the PSP does indeed have WiFi capability. It's how you'll update the firmware in the future.

Also about both lineups. IMO PSP's launch lineup is much stronger but it's actual future upcoming list isn't very strong. The DS on the other hand has tons of promise but it's been extremely slow unless you're a importer. (I have around 5 DS games already! My current DS games are: Super Mario 64 DS, Feel the Magic, Puyo Puyo Fever DS, Band Brothers, and Yoshi Touch n' Go (Which BTW is one of the best DS games yet to take advantage of its features and can possibly be a great gateway game) Personally at first, the PSP intereseted me for it's media features and was gonna be a manga reader at work for me. But now everything else about it is goddamn awesome :D

And about the DS scratching, it's possibly from when you start to wear out the Stylus. I've been trying to figure out myself if my current Stylus has a sharp point now :/

In any case, here's a image explaining that arrogant bastard's masterpiece thats pissing me off every once and awhile. (Kutaragi that is)
