I picked three of these at work (two for me, and one for a friend) a few weeks ago. The price is $119 regular, I got them for $65 with my Best Buy employee discount.

Pretty damn neat, and I would say a must have if you are a Star Wars fan. The blade is a damn neon light tube. This thing is bright as hell. It also has digital humming, and makes the swinging sounds effects, and the clashing sounds. Much better quality than the plastic flashlight a retractable tube on the end that Hasbro makes. The hilt is actually a metal replica of the one used in the movie. Only thing is the Master Replica blade does not extract or retract. However, when you turn it on or off the light does go up or down the blade to give the same effect.

Those are simply badass. I saw them the other day but the hefty price tag put me off, at least for now.

I see by your choice in blade color you have chosen a side. user posted image

I was wondering though what exactly is the tube made out of? I mean you said neon so im envisioning those fragile neon tubes that if you sneeze on they break, but I don't think they would make it out of that. shoot.gif

The tube is encased in a hard plastic. Its pretty damn sturdy. You would have to make it a mission to break this thing.

Back when I was a little kid, some toy company made lightsabers. They were basically a flashlight with a flimsy plastic tube on the end. Kind of the same thickness of a wrapping paper cardboard tube. My brother and I used to run the halls of our apartment building beating the hell out each other with those things. So, it didn't take long before the plastic tube bent and was ruined. it sure was fun though.
I guess we had the first versions because ours didn't make any sounds. I noticed later on that they were making the lightsabers with this little add on at the top to give it that "wooosh" sound when you swung it.

I seem to remember the colors being red and green on ours.
