To sum up the important stuff regarding XBL:

There will be two versions of Xbox Live. Silver is free (everyone gets it), and Gold is a paid subscription, like the current XBL. It looks like Xbox Live will be free on the weekends for everyone; Gold members will get it all the time, obviously. Current Xbox Live accounts will carry over to the 360 and become Gold Xbox Live accounts. Both Gold and Silver members will be able to download demos, trailers, and other content through XBL.

This info seems pretty legit, and some insiders have confirmed that this is indeed a real leak. At this rate, you have to wonder if Microsoft will have anything left to reveal at the MTV unveiling on May 12. beigebigrazz.gif

Theres been talk of two types of 360's to be released. One, an all in one media center type with all the extras like boiling your coffee and brewing your eggs. The other a more games-only system. With the latter being the less expensive, so hopefully that may help put out some worry about crazy "next gen" prices.

My bro said on MTV he heard that the XBox 360 would only play on HDTVs. I'ma bit skeptical but I was wondering if anyone else heard anything similar.

computerandvideogames.com reports that Xobox 360 is going to cost $299. Not as bad as first thought (>$350 or so) but still damn pricey.

I don't know, I am not getting too hyped about these new consoles just yet. To me it seems like there is still potential in the old ones, at least in the X-Box. I'll try and hold off any excitement for a while but I know there is going to be a title that will be a "must have" and I will have to buy one of these damn things. beigebiggrin.gif

What to do with the old X-Box? Maybe I will make it a Media Extender somehow.

Hi-Def Xbox360 videos from Microsoft.com

Here are some 720p video demos for the 360.

The minimum requirements for viewing high-definition (720p) videos are: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Media Player 9 Series, a 2.4 GHz processor or equivalent, 384 MB of RAM, a 64 MB video card, 1024x768 screen resolution, and a 16-bit sound card with attached speakers.

yay triple post!

I stumbled across what looks like a Powerpoint presentation of the 360's capabilities and accessories. It's in Spanish, but you can pretty much figure out what is being presented.

Click for larger versions.

This is interesting, looks like it will easily support S-Video, Component, and VGA.

No "WTF"s about it. X360 can accept input from a variety of MP3/media devices, including PSP. You are supposedly able to stream music/pics/video from your digital media player (rio, ipod, iriver, psp, whatevah) to the 360 as part of its "media center hub" capabilities.

Those Ghost Recon trailers look amazing and a few games there look somewhat decent. I am very surprised with the xbox 360.

Well, it seems that Microsoft has already developed the technology to allow its Xbox 360 to connect with rival firms’ products as this recent post from an anonymous developer shows. At PSP Vault, a game developer with the simple name of Newbie has posted the first screenshots that show the Sony PSP connected to the Xbox 360:

That's cool that you can actually access the full file structure of the Memory Stick, instead of just limiting you to reading the vids/mp3s off it.
