Mechanically, it looks almost identical to the first one. I hope they revamp the chat system somehow.

Japanes site for Monster Hunter PSP

The site is in japanese but presented very cleverly in psuedo PSP mockup screens.

Preview Trailer from Gamespot

QUOTE
Monster Hunter Portable is based on the Monster Hunter G game for the PlayStation 2. New features have been added to this version of the game including minigames and the ability to raise cats. The game supports 1 to 4 players via an ad-hoc connection.

I couldn't find a reliable US relase date, other than December 2005 for Japan.

That looks pretty cool, interesting features.

Man I always though this game look like fun. The monsters and everything always appealed to me. I think I'm gonna pick up the the one currently available and mess around with it just for kicks.

I remember I was this close...

MAX |-|------| MIN

to get getting Monster Hunter. I even made a topic about it. When it came down to it, barely anyone was playing anymore. Hopefully this one is a vast improvement over the last one.

I also wonder about PSU, meaning if these games will clash with each other.

What server/area/etc. are you guys playing at these days? I'd like to start playing this game again and would love to meet up with you guys.

Those Famitsu scans are sweet. I just hope they improve on the communication system as well as allowing people that get disconnected mid-mission to be able to get back in.

It's funny, with all this talk about Monster Hunter lately, I actually dug out my copy and it's sitting next to our PS2. The limited time I played this game with you guys was a blast. This game is so badass that one time Donkey and I watched some Japanese hunters for like an hour while they broadcasted their game over Peercast. beigelaugh.gif

Word on any latest Quests?

I wonder if they've been rotating the previous ones from last year, i.e. kill 30 velociprey.
