No I don't have a Wii and I don't have Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. But all the hype I've been hearing about this game really has me amped up to play it. So I remembered that I still had Echos for Gamecube and that I hadn't beaten it yet. So I popped that puppy in and I was totally lost.

I didn't know what I was suppose to do, so I remembered I had hint system turned off. Turned it back on and bam back on track! Of course I still had to figure out how exactly I was suppose to get to my destination which took about 30 mins. Finally I figured it out and before I knew it I was blasting me some Space Pirates. I was in this really cool High tech looking place that really reminds me of some of the places I saw in the Metroid Prime 3 Corruption videos I'd seen online. I ran into this crazy ass floating ball that shot me with something and my screen goes all hazy, a bunch of wierd letters pop out at the bottom of the screen and then I see it says on the top press L + R + B to reboot. I do so and I'm back to normal and my visor indicates that all my functions are back online. ... FREAKING AWESOME. Okay, I know I may be a little too excited over this but man, I just wanna say Metroid owns and I wish I had corruption.

How are the wii controls? Is it intuitive or confusing at first?

I gave up on Metroid after Zero Mission. I played the first game in the Prime series and thought "Great... another FPS wannabe, but with Nintendo."

Controls are surprisingly good. It takes some getting used to at first.
In MP1&2, you can lock on enemies and fire away. In MP3, you can set it so that you can freely aim while you have an enemy locked on. I guess its sorta like the "lock-on colossus" button in Shadow of the Colossus. It feels weird at first but I got the hang of it after awhile. It helps if you're trying to target a specific part.

The controls are great for the grapple lasso & beam (they're 2 different things). It's basically like fishing with the nunchuck. You lock on a latchable object, then you flick the nunchuck forward and out comes the grapple lasso/beam. Quickly pulling it back lets you yank out shields from enemies, pull debris out the way, and pull switches (there's probably more stuff to do with the grapple).
It's really satisfying.

Turning on certain switches are pretty cool too. There are switches where you grab onto a latch, pull the wiimote back to pull on it, turn it, then push it back in to complete the operation.
As cool as that is, there are times that its unresponsive. Not really that big of a deal though.

Only problem I have is that you have to have the wiimote pointed at the TV at all times. The camera is dependent on where you're pointing. So to walk straight, you have to point the reticle on the middle of the screen, otherwise you find yourself looking down or turning when you don't want to. I guess I need to play a bit more.

Really DE? I never got that feeling playing Metroid. I always thought the Prime series was a pretty Revolutionary jump for the series since they managed to keep what I thought was so great of the series only just change the perspective in which things are presented. Just sucks that we never had the Super Run, or at the end of the game we didn't get a timer and a self destruct sequence at the end.

I'm 50% done with Echos, just got the Spider Ball, beigesmile.gif . I forgot how awesome this game was. Anyway, all you Wii owners need to post impression and reviews now. I Crave all Corruption info I can get. Oh yeah, Gamespy is chaod of the century, giving MP3 an 8.5. pirate.gif
Also Donkey, I remember reading somewhere that are 2 different control styles. have you tried using the other control style at all?

Game is great so far. However, this one is full on FPS if you can handle that. With the other two it was first person perspective but with limited aiming ability while moving and lock on. The Prime games never fully felt like a FPS in my opinion because of that. The intro level down right reminded me of your standard intro for FPS pc games like Half-Life 2. You know you walking around following NPC characters in a lab, you get strapped to a chair, and they scan you and run test, and you can look around while being strapped down. Shit like that.

I like there are new elements in the game introduced to you as new to the series, while also other new elements introduced because of the new control style.

Yes there are three control styles. Basically the first one is like the old style, where you lock on. The other two is free roaming while locked but you get access to the side step jump around while locked. The difference between Standard and Advanced, I believe, is sensitivity while turning. I have it on advanced.

Seems to be more puzzles in this one from what I remember of the other two. And I'm early in the game.

The voice acting help with the immersion into the game and story a lot better than arriving some place and reading objectives, in my opinion.

*Kinda spoiler below*

Boss fights are top notch. Really going for you have not seen this before card. Meta Ridley fight, early on, was really awesome in a LOTR: Two Towers, Gandalf vs Balrog kinda way.

Iceman dude, boss, was cool too. However, the experience was kinda ruined when I got him to 3/4 health. Like the other games, bosses throw all kinds of attacks at you and mix it up, and throw new ones at you at certain health percentages. However, he started doing some cool shit and when he was done at 3/4 health he did the Iceman ice-slide into the wall and got stuck. He could not attack anymore, but I could kill him. Dissappointing to say the least.

I like it better than Echos so far, and better than last portions of Prime (since I think towards the end the quest kinda loses steam).

Man I kept getting killed by him. Maybe because I started off playing Veteran mode haha. I got his pattern down but he always kills me before I kill him.
