I liked Splinter Cell alot (I had the Gamecube version. It was lacking but it was still fun), so today I went and bought Pandora Tomorrow for the PC.
And stealth multiplayer sounds pretty cool.
I looked at the box for the system requirements:

Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
ATI 8500/9000/9700
NVIDIA GeForce 3/4 families

"Hrmmm. I have a 128MB GeForce 4 MX, wonder if I'll run into any problems??"
I installed the game just fine. But when I go to start game, the game boots me back to Windows!
I got through the CG intro just fine. Even created a file save. But couldn't play!!
COULDN'T PLAY!!! cry2.gif

*shakes fist at video card*

I have heard that Doom 3 is alot more demanding though.[/rant]

Anyway, I was wondering what's a good video card for under $200???

ATI Raedon 9200 256MB only cast me 125ish. So I;m sure the 9000 will be cheaper

Get a Radeon 9600 or 9600 PRO edition, I use the non-PRO version myself. Got it at $140 at Best Buy. It in itself is a pretty good card, maybe not as powerful as a 9500/9700/9800 but good for its price.

The nvidia MX cards are castrated cards. yours particularly is about as powerful as an old geforce 2 (not lieing). Sadly they dont print that for people to see =x The problem is the lack of pixle/vertex shader, which is a MUST on most new games anymore. Nvidia had some drivers that made the cards "pretent" they had it so you could play games with the card. Though i dont recall which series, was early 5x.xx i think, maybe 4x.xx . Guru3d.com is a good place to go and check out cards and suggestions. With the latest gen cards out prices on older ones are droping a bit.

I was able to run doom3 on an old geforce ti 4600 in 800x600 at med detail (it looked badass even then) without much problem. Pc is an older amd xp 2700+ 1 gig ddra 333fsb pc 2700 ram. To give you an idea.

The 9600 is a great card. You can get the 9600 XT for about 160 bucks. I'm using the 9600 pro.

Make sure you check pricewatch.com for the best deal.
You should be able to find a really good one for under $200 there.

Actually, I ended up keeping my old video card. Only time I play Splinter Cell now is at my friends house =T

Though Radeon cards sounds appealing.
Thanks for the suggestions.
