Grr! This is a bit of a rant, but it PSO specific so I wanted to put it in here.
Anyways...
My main character, scu, is a HUcast with a Greenhill ID. I can't tell you how many @#$%ing rifles I find. I have found at least 10 or more WALS' and VISK's. It drives me nuts! Who up there in SegaLand thought it would be fun to torture hunter robots with rifles and wands? Scu has become a roving metal detector for my other characters now. I just save it all and transfer it over. Unfortunately, all the stuff I find is for the higher ups and my two other characters are in the low 20's. GRR!!!!
And do the RED variety of weapons even exist anymore? On the DC, I found a red handgun in VHard once. It made ULT soooo much easier!
All in all, I am getting tired of my mechguns. But, I have to use them cause they're the only thing that hits on a consistant basis. I want! I want! I WANT!!!

I feel your pain, scu. Though for Rinn it's Gae Bolgs, not rifles. I suppose at least that's a useful weapon for a hunter. >.> Somewhere out there, I'm sure there's a Ranger with a Hunter-oriented ID cursing the system just like you. ^.~ I would imagine that SonicTeam had a wonderful vision of all the various section IDs existing happily together in a world of free trade. Of course, dupers is as dupers does... I guess it wasn't meant to be.

But look on the bright side! You have lots of friends, and they all have IDs different from yours. =3

As for the Red weapons... yes, of course they're still around. They're still pretty powerful, but no where near like they were in v.2. They're a weeee bit harder to find this time around, too. beigeroll.gif If you want to have a look at what your ID (and others') can find, check out this link. I believe this is one HC82 posted a while back. Even though the guy has never updated it, it's still one of the best rare drop listings out there, IMO.

*cough*

Nah, I really enjoyed my ID. Too bad I don't get Yasminkov 2000H or Anti-Android Rifle anymore. Oh, and the non-equippable Chain Sawd. Those things are what pissed me off about Skyly.

Thx Rinn, and you're right! If it weren't for my buddies, I wouldn't have ANY rares! Well, none that are worth anything or that I could even use for that matter! beigelaugh.gif

I chose my PSO character name long before I knew anything about how to get an ID of your liking. And so it just kinda stuck throught the different PSO versions. So, I guess this is really my own fault for (purposefully) getting Greenhill all these times. beigeroll.gif Still though! *grumble*

About that free trade concept. Funny, youl'd have thought the game was made in China and not Japan! HAHA!!

I'll check out that chart, thx.

So, does anyone need a Dragon Slayer? I just so happen to have a .. um .. few.

I never cared for the section ID system. It only allows a few people to find key rares for certain classes. Almost every section ID drops Pyscho wand, Heaven Punisher, and Lavis cannon, those weapons are super rare and hardly equate to what is needed for each respective class. I think it is cool every class has a chance at one of the "super" weapons, but how many people actually find them? Trading is the only option, but lets be realistic, not everyone is a trader and trading is incredibly time consuming if everything you obtain is not useable by you. Srank is about the only saving grace for a legit player, the Sranks are both powerfull and customizable(with PD). These rares are earned with skill and teamwork, not just getting lucky. I never liked the idea that another players performance can shoot through the roof just because they got lucky on one run with a MKB or an uber double saber, seems lopsided and doesn't reward skill. Semi decent rares like demo comets, cudgels, asukas, and guardwaves are the exception. If you know where they drop you WILL find them eventually, but when it comes to the rares that only drop in a few section IDs and are really powerfull, it is not well balanced for them to drop only in a few section ids. IMO the top gear in the game(not best) should be awarded based on skill, teamwork and level.

While EVERY section does drop numerous rares for each class, some classes oviously have greater advantages with the right sect ID. If there was a larger amount of monster types in the game, then the amount of section IDs could be shrinked down. Also if there were more variant types that would also aid in rare drops(for example instead of Indi belra one run you might see a different berla variant that drops a different rare, but isn't a rare pop-like mericacol, but not a mini boss). This would mean that each room would probably need an additional wave added, or increase each wave by two monsters, but who would complain to that?

If ST were to keep the section ID rare drop system, then there should be more skilled based events(cmode/famitus) which reward the player with unique rares. So players who choose a name that fits their character well, yet get stuck with a pinkal sect being a hunter can still have some great gear.

I have always had a Whitill ID. It's pretty.

And i have resigned myself to the fact that the weapons and armours i want in the game, i'm not getting anyhow. Besides, my "cheap" rares are enough to get me through the game.
