The game certainly seems more story and character driven then other Castlevania games. I've seen some gameplay trailers and it seems like the typical over the top God of War style, since he has a whip its a good marriage.
I'm looking forward to this game cause of Kojima, so I can expect a healthy dose of gameplay and replayability, combined with solid story elements to help keep things more interesting. |

Assuming Castlevania doesn't follow Dracula coming to be from Vlad the impaler, and that that was the power of dominance Gabriel used at 5:27, that would potentially make Gabriel Dracuhluh.

I rescind my previous comment. I forgot about Lament of Innocence taking on the role of telling the first coming of Dracula.

After one hour with the game, what I'm getting is God of War with a Castlevania story. That's cool with me, but I was really hoping for something that you know... felt like Castlevania.

Get it! Got it? Good. Play it.
I was totally unaware that this game came out this week and since I had some extra cash and not planning taking any honeys out this week decided to pick this up, especially after remembering it's a Hideo Kojima joint. Rube60 version has two dsics one is for installing the game. lolz. Anyway, game has some fucking fantastic presentation and pacing. It's totally god of war meets castlevania, but way better in playability compared to something like Dante's Inferno and the combat feels on par and if not better then God of War 3. -------------------- "Brotherhood asked for no friendship, only loyalty. Yeah I gotta cosign with the God of War comparison. I have to give it up to the presentation and graphics on this game, though. Top tier all the way. The in-game graphics so far would pass for a pre-rendered cutscene on some lesser titles. The framerate does suffer from it, though.
The gameplay feels really tight, its easy enough to get the timing for combos and counters, but without the game feeling like its on auto-pilot. You can kind of tell this game had its roots as an original title though, it doesn't really feel connected to the Castlevania franchise so far. Being set about 500 years before the main series, its kind of got free reign to do whatever it wants, though. -------------------- |

So I beat the game last night. Fucking ACE! First off it should be known to you guys that this game is a reboot of the series and it's going in a brand new direction. It has nothing to do with any of the other Castlavania canon we have come to know, this one is new. With that said, I'm totally fucking excited to see what they have in store for this series.
