and a turn of events! This is my first attempt at using 3D software, something which I have always wanted to learn. So I took something I was familiar with a 3D'ed it! I am just toying with various ideas on how to proceed now. Should be fun!
what 3d software? i've got bryce and maya.. still haven't learned them let.. guess i'm lazy.
Well, I have tried pretty much every Mac 3D software out there and the only one I have been able to wrap my head is Cinema 4D.
Maya = wtf?
Lightwave = um... I just want to draw a cube! Where's the freakin cube? BAH!
Pixles 3D = blah!
Amapi 3D = interface to weird
Years ago I started out using Infini-D and a few others, but I never did anything with any of them. I figure I can practice using Cinema 4D, to get the concepts of modeling down, and then transfer over to Maya or Lightwave if I ever wanted to get serious about it.
Bryce is kinda fun though... isn't it? It's surprising who much you can actually do with it.
alias wavefront makes maya.
~you know, scu - your creation has video game potential, a potential 3D platformer for the GC.. =) video game of the year: Late for Work - lol, i would play it..
You should find a shader that allows you to give it the thick cel-shaded outlines so that the 3D version comes across with the same style as your hand-drawn ones.
DivA - HAHAH!!! That would be great! It'd be like Rampage, but without the purpose.
Crush - I was thinking the same thing too. I am going to try a different model to bring back the thick, black outlining.
Plus, I am still going to do some transfers of the little guy on t-shirts. I just need to get my ass off of the couch and do it. Me = lazy.
Looks like he's in a room with city style wallpaper. Funky!
:D
updates are far and few...
After too much time spent with his new 'love', our hero finds the he just can't help himself.
hah hah that's awesome!
like groovy and all
Haha, good stuff.
As for Scu the video game...you would need light sabers.
haha, so cool... I love the overalls
Great stuff, scu. =)
Is that Fire Emblem on that GBA? I think that's the first FE game that made it stateside as the series has been around since like 1990 in Japan. Great stuff scu.
Isn't it one of the Harvest Moon games? Unit's got the signature backwards cap on.
I've only played the original (I think it was the original) on the SNES, but dang that was a fun game. I've been meaning to check some of newer installments in the series; maybe I'll pick up Wonderful Life if it gets decent reviews.
I think this is my favorite Late for Work yet, unit - just don't go and try to milk a bus or anything.
:D
It's the new Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town for the the GBA.
I love it. Kind of relaxing, you know? And keeping me good until the GameCube version comes out in January.
More comincs coming!
I like the comic up there, and I've heard the 4D program is pretty decent if you have some skills, do oyu think someone with some skill should use this, or is there a superior program?
Well, AfroForce, software is like life...
It all comes down to preference.
Some like Illustrator while others prefer Freehand. Some QuarkXpress and some PageMaker. I happen to like Cinema4D because it was the only program that I almost immediately understood. I have tried several others to no evail. I own Maya and I have tried Lightwave. Both are highend, but both are as confusing as all hell. Shit, I can't even draw a frickin' cube with Lightwave. And, since I am not trying to create the next Pixar movie or design videogame characters, I chose the software that I could use and enjoy.
If you are interested in going down this 3D path, there are many good magazines out there to help you on your way. Plus, most of these mags offer a disk each month and usually have free software on them.
3DWorld http://www.3dworldmag.com/ is good.
Digit http://www.digitmag.co.uk/ is another good one
Both of these are European mags and cost about $14 an issue.
And, like life, they are more PC (rather than Mac) friendly.
scu is a Mac person.
