I finally got to see it over the weekend too.
Normally I like to call bullshit on over-the-top preposterous action sequences, but in THIS movie's case it was so awesome and well-done that it nullifies any argument to the contrary. Every action scene was superb, and great camerawork so you could actually tell what was going on all the time. Tifa's fight with Loz, the whole Bahamut thing, and the "Final Boss" were especially radical. What the hell was up with that Denzel kid, though? Why was he even in the movie? I thought since they played him up so much, maybe he was like the reincarnation of Sephiroth or some kind of important role. But it was just "oh noes i'm geostigma zombie... oh wait i'm better now." The whole story was a little dry, but doesn't matter because the movie is just eyecandy and fanservice anyways, you could't ask for much more. And really, only fans would be able to enjoy it fully, because during the non-action parts, I was thinking to myself "Damn, if I had never played FF7 before, I would have ABSOLUTELY no idea what is going on now." The movie just assumes you know everything that is going on with Cloud and Tifa, and then all the sudden it starts throwing these random characters at you (Yuffie, Cid, etc) for no good reason, mouseketeer role-call style. The only real problem, though, is that I will no longer accept any less quality from ANY future videogame-based movie, OR Final Fantasy game for that matter. Every moment of FFXII should feel like FF7:AC was or I want my $50 back. As a FF fan, its 's out of 5, for sure. -------------------- |

The "final bosses" entrance was the coolest part in the entire movie

If I didn't know any better I'd think this thing was done with real actors.
As for a story, one would be too engrossed in all the eye candy to notice any kind of "story". -------------------- "Computers are incredibly fast, accurate and stupid. Human beings are incredibly slow, inaccurate and brilliant. Together they are powerful beyond imagination." -Albert Einstein |

Downloading it from the BitTorrent page right now. My cousin was over today and he said it wasn't coming out until next year, uness he' s wrong, that means they delayed it again. Hopefully, I'll be able to view it this weekend. Also, I hope its in english or has subtitles so I wont have to find another one.

Just finished watching the movie, great stuff. As mentioned before if you don't know anything about the first game you'll sure as hell be lost here. I think the dubbing on my version was a little off and made it a bit hard understanding the paper thin story at times. But as Crushinator said the over the top fight scenes are incredible.
If your really dying to know what the story is about here it is in two sentences. The point of FFVII:AC was to explain the origins of baptisms and why we still do them. This movie more then explains why, and I should say this now, Cloud is SSJ John the baptist... Edit-- Oh yeah one little thing that really bothered me in the movie was Bahamut having a colgate smile. I mean wtf? He' the king of wyverns for christ sakes. His grill should be in the dictionary next to the word menacing. Not on some Crest Billboard. Well when you consider it, he IS just summoned off fo materia. Perhaps every summoning is just like the one before that and he always comes out pretty and perfect ;)
Unless he brushes his teeth in his free time. Edit: We do baptisms to avoid Geostigma? |

That movie was pretty sexy...I have a copy of it on my computer. I almost cried when I saw the old gang reunite to kick some ass. It was beautiful...
