I know we haven't had any political talk on this board yet (aside from confirming Sarah Palin as a cougar and MILF.)

But I'm happy Obama won, I was afraid America might make the same mistake 3 times in a row, but we got it right this time.

AT thoughts?

Yeah, it made me pretty happy too. I'm glad I could vote in this historical election. Time to clean up the mess that the stupid cowboy made. The only thing I'm disappointed in is all the anti-gay propositions that went through (that shouldn't even have been propositions), and the still low percentage of young voters. Gay couples can no longer get married in California, or Arizona. I forgot what state it was, but gay couples there cannot adopt a child together. What right do 3+ million STRAIGHT people have voting on telling gay people what they can do?

A black president doesn't mean we're a country free of bigotry. America still makes me sick sometimes.

One thing I have found interesting is the global views on the election outcome. If any good has come from the past 8 years, its that the world has started to realize that decisions made in the Oval Office, Kremlin, or any other house of policy no longer stop at some magical line drawn on a map. Humanity is evolving to a point where borders, mountains, or oceans no longer shelter them from others, not even others ideals. The sooner everyone realizes that the archaic ideals of old where magic lines on maps, your skin color or really ANYTHING made you superior or inferior to someone else need to be finally done away with; the sooner we can all live in a world where we devote our energy to the betterment of life, not improving how we destroy it. We've taken another step in the direction we need to, lets hope we can continue on this path.
