Apocalypse Tribe HQ _ Phantasy Star _ Official Phantasy Star Zer0 Topic

Since a few of us have the game already (and been playing it to death), why not put up some info/screenshots?

Lobby Controls:
L-Trigger (+R-Trigger for opposite sex) + D-Pad = emotes

Specific In Game Controls:
L-Trigger: Resets Camera
Holding L-Trigger: Strafe/Lock on enemy
R-Trigger: Toggle action palette
L+R Trigger: Photon Blast
Holding X + L/R Trigger: Pan camera
With Gunblade, Hold L-Trigger + attack: Use gun

For Crush
L-Trigger + Start button: Item menu shortcut
R-Trigger + Start button: Weapon menu shortcut
This method is not as quick as you think it would be but its faster than bringing up the menu first.

What we know:

Gurhacia Valley
Ozette Wetlands
Rioh Snowfield
Oblivion City Paru
Makara Ruins
Arca Plant
Dark Shrine

A bonus area after you finish the game will be available. Its basically a tower with at least 100 floors. Its only available offline from what I can see.
Battle system:
Saber
Sword
Daggers (Twin)
Partisan
Claw
Shield (classified as saber type)
Double Saber
Hand Gun
Rifle
Gun Blade (classified as a gun type)
Mechguns
Rocket Launcher
Laser Cannon
Staff
Wand
Slicer/Fan (classified oddly, as a wand type)
  • Weapon %'s return.
  • You can gain a "chain" bonus. I'm not sure how this works or what it affects if anything.

Any new info will be added here.

DO NOT let the fact that its a DS game turn you down. Its a high quality game that's packed with excellent old school gameplay. Its just as addicting as the original PSO was. PSU can't match this game in terms of.. well everything except for graphics. Heck, the graphics are awesome for a DS game with varied enviroments and areas. I would be very surprised if this game doesn't come out stateside.

My FC is: 1462 0162 6707

Good info summary, Donkey. Thanks for the protips on the quick weapon equip buttrock.gif .

My friend code for PS0 is 1547 9457 1997. <--- New code.

EDIT: My game data got erased and I have a new friend code :(

Hai Hai Hai, this game owns-desu. untitled-2.gif Haha anyway, I'll post my friend code here too. It is: 1719 7170 9080. This game is so close to PSO in terms of gameplay it's scary. It also takes the aspects that did work in PSU and implements them. Basically, it's a formula for a most own DS game. I hope this comes Stateside, because I'll surely run out and grab a copy. buttrock.gif

I jacked this from PSO-W. These are the codes you get from pre-ordering the game.
Go to the underground store (there's a manhole at the end of town that you can access), access the vending machine, then enter these codes. The game will save after each item you get.

8331-7716 Scallion a.k.a Leek (LOL)
3489-9723 Gun Sword: Blade Cannon
5247-3115 Valiant
4137-5476 Selvaria's Lance (HUGE lance, I think AC mentioned that this is from Valkyria Chronicles?)

Free stuff for everyone!
Credit goes to Rob2003ert from PSOW.

DOPE. Imma get these right now haha. Yeah, Selvaria is indeed a character in Valkyria Chronicles and the weapon is hers. Nice find Donkey, this is too awesome. shades.gif

You trade them in to the chick in the underground shop. You can get weapons and items. The other guy in there can make items out of enemy parts... for a price.

What level or when are you able to access the underground shop?

I am level 15 right now, and on the fourth or so mission, and I cannot go to the underground shop whatsoever..

Also..This game is all kinds of awesome.

I totally forgot about this game. I should seriously pick it up at some point in time.

If I remember correctly, you'll have to do more missions. I was pretty far in the game before I had access to it. Not really sure what the requirements are.

for those that have played i have a question. from some videos it looks like PA's are in the game still. but how are they handled? in psu i felt PA's cheapend the game since you could just rambo everything except bosses. even when they added just attack it eventually devolved into doing a regular attack then just attacking into a pa.

Posted by: Crushinator Aug 4 2009, 05:24 PM

I thought you played the ROM with all those upgraded stats and weapons unlocked? beigeconfused.gif

You have to hold the button down to charge the PA attack, so you can't spam it as easily as it was in PSU.

Looks like the official site is up and running too: http://www.sega.com/ps0/home.php

11/10? As in 11/10/09? As in national Modern Warfare 2 day? If I can pick up a copy before release day sure, I'll be playing it while I'm at the Midnight sale for MW2.
