Last night, after a grueling round of trying to obtain the elusive white ring (third time is NOT a charm btw), I decided to stop by the lobby and say 'hi' to a few friends. Well, my quick stop turned into me, 'rinn and DivA played a game of "Stump the Censor!" Now I know this is probably old news to most of you, but I was amazed at the words they bleeped out. I know some words in Europe mean different things than in America. For example, "poof". Anyway, the 10 yr old in me, and I hope them, found all of this quite amusing. I guess we all did 'cause we did it for almost an hour.
You guys should try it! It's quite fun. Be creative! You'll be surprised!! -------------------- |

ooh.... here's some fun censors:
saturday (the turd) coca cola (cola) masterbate -this one i find funny as it's actually spelt masturbate, and the correct spelling is accepted. pow or wop (one of them is i think) jap Frozen Shooter (hooter lmao) there were a few rarely noticed ones aswell that i picked up recently but i've forgotten them. also on soem obvious swear words you can make them acceptable by adding stuff: "cunt" will get censorred, but "cunt." will not for example. -------------------- |

Censor bypass is always a fun way to pass the time when extreme boredom hits you. I was surprised to see the word "clutch" censored. Perhaps it means something bad in another language. I used to know a few out of ordinary words that were censored but I seem to have forgotten them.

~it's odd, i can see the reasoning for sensoring vulgar-type words, but they also sensored words that really have no need for sensoring...example: bosom.. =/ i would actually prefer players to use that word over others that i see spoken frequently.. though, i'm surprised that lube didn't make the list.. ;p
lol ~ fondle.. ^^ knead.. stroke.. ~perhaps ST had't fully realized how context could subtly shift the meaning of a word.. whatever the case may be ~ it was fun to explore this.. =) |

The word "dago" in ice staff dagon is censored, because it's a racial slurr for those of Italian or Spanish descent. The term "wop" falls in the same category (for Italians). "Jap," of course, is the derogatory term for the Japanese, just as "chink" is to the Chinese. However the word chink has several non-offensive meanings compared with other slurs. A "coolie" is an unskilled worker in or from the Far East that's hired for dirt cheap.
The word "pedophile" is censored for obvious reasons. The same could be said for man goo as well. -------------------- "Computers are incredibly fast, accurate and stupid. Human beings are incredibly slow, inaccurate and brilliant. Together they are powerful beyond imagination." -Albert Einstein |

Anyone care to take a stab at why "chatte" is censored? Found this one out today. Someone in a game was saying, "he's such a chatter" and everything but the r in "chatter" was replaced with the $#@!#.

Can't forget the Ano from "Ano Rifle"
Edit- The closest word to "chatte" in the Webster's 9 edition here at work was "chattel" which is another word for slave. Also chatte looks like it might be a French word |
