The man actually smoked on-camera (including guests) for years till about the 1980's.
Kids, don't ever start smoking.

There are some who smoke all their life and avoid all the associated health problems. My grandpa did it since age 3 and he lived to 81.

How does one start smoking at 3? Seems like a cigarette would be too much for a child that small.

He had a 13-year-old aunt that thought it was cute to see a kid smoking. This was back in 1923, so no doubt this wouldn't fly today.
