being that TRON 2.0 has been mentioned at another thread; rather than straying too far from topic, i'll start this thread instead - dedicated to all things TRON.. erk, hmmm - anyways *grins* for all TRON enthusiasts & to those that are curious - here are several links to get the ball rolling, so to speak..
thus far, the upcoming pc game looks intense (yah, i'm a techno-geek at heart - especially when it comes to 3D digital realms.. =) to answer an older question - i have heard, grape-vine wise, that there is a film in the works & shall have a release date anytime from 2004 - 2005 CE - *ponders* that was over 1.5 years ago, now i'm uncertain as to what the latest is; but the game is a definite for release - a definitive successor.. ^.-
http://www.tron20.net/frameset.html - the background music is soothing, i needs a copy of that.. ;p anyways - good stuff here about the game..

Whoa cool! A new Tron movie would definately kick ass. I remember watching the old one was a wee lad and thinking it was the coolest thing I've ever seen. I used to play the game ALL the time at the ol' skating rink when I was about 15 or so ^_^;. I never had the chance to try "Disks of Tron" though. I saw it on the gameshow Starcade a few times and boy I wanna try it out. ;-) I'm a sucker when it comes to the old school arcade games. (Tempest pwnz me)
Tron and The Discs of Tron are both excellent. I have actually never seen the movie though .
should be intresting, watching tron now, i get this huge retro feeling.
you should see the movie crush its a classic.
Speaking of all things Tron, check out this Shockwave game based on the Lightcycle segment of the movie.

wow.
I loved this movie when it came out. And instantly bought the 2 disk DVD set when it came out a few months ago. I even have an art book filled with some really cool (and some cheesy) concept drawings and stuff.
The "how to" section on the DVD's is great. They go way back to when the first computer graphics were done and all that stuff. We should all be ashamed at ourselves for not using our computers to their full potential nowadays. :D
Any ways... and on....
I loved the Tron arcade game and I got quite good at it too. I especially loved the section of the game where you had to make your way to the center of the screen in order to escape the dreaded bugs! The best part was that in the movie, the "bugs" were only in the solar sailer part and they just glided right over them. Basically had nothing to do with the movie except eye candy.
The Disks of Tron was also excellent. I played that thing all the time. It was one of those enclosed cabinets with black lights inside. There was also the voice of the MCP that would try to intimidate you.
Good stuff.
I wish they would make a Mac version of the upcoming Tron 2.0 game. I would buy it in a heart beat. And I hope beyond hope that if they do a Tron 2 movie that they at least try to keep it cool. None of this Rollerball 2000 bullshit. Damn it all! The original Rollerball movie kicked ass. I am so @#$%ing sick of all these - "In the future, everyone is a hot teenage, half-shirt, size zero waist scientist hacker crap." James Cann never wore a half shirt!!
