~it's been awhile since i posted one of these; to those that know me, one of my passions is music - the power of sound is an amazing thing if composed right...since there are lots of new faces present, me thinks this is a good way of learning everyones' particular tastes..
keep in mind* - 1 tune per post, & if you wish to comment on your selection, then feel free to do so - music is known to bring worlds together; ok, time to start this one off proper.. kamaya painters : endless wave ~an impressive instrumental european dance track that cannot help but fill one's soul with thoughts of crystal dreams; very inspirational for dancing.. |

Band: Nevermore
Song: Cenotaph Lyrics: "And I will build this in her name. The dream will not allow failure, only servitude, for I am it's slave" Cenotaph Foreboding fear trickles down the spine Into the pool, resonating Behind the wall the dreamer lies in velvet sleep She must be still, never make a sound Awake....... awaken the dreamer Awake....... awaken Awake....... awaken the dreamer Awake....... where are you my love? We build our walls around our games We decompose, dreamers never really die She lies unknown, the cenotaph in her name Awake....... awaken the dreamer Awake....... awaken Awake....... awaken the dreamer Awake....... where are you my love? She lies unknown She lies unknown She lies unknown She lies unknown She hides This song means alot to me. You may read it's lyrics as someone who is longing for a lost love. But when I hear this song I see so much more. "She" to me means someting more greater than a human being, something that can never be found. But what it means to me.. You will never know. EDIT: Oh I'll have anew song every day.. I hope that doesn't anoy you all.. =( |

Since Dor so kindly started a format, I'll do the same and follow..
Band: The Postal Service Song: Sleeping In Lyrics: "Last week I had the strangest dream that everything was exactly how it seemed where there was never any mystery of who shot john f. kennedy it was just a man with something to prove slightly bored and severly confused he steadied his rifle with his target in the center and became famous on that day in november don't wake me I plan on sleeping in again last night I had that strange dream where everything was exactly how it seemed no concerns about the world getting warmer people thought that they were just being rewarded for treating others as they'd like to be treated for obeying stop signs and curing diseases for mailing letters with the address of the sender now we can swim any day in november don't wake me I plan on sleeping in" I apologize if you were looking for something profound. To be honest, I'm sick of all the 'profound' statements my life throws at me. It's another excuse for those teenage kids to start more drama. *Strikes a dramatic pose* Music seems to be the new refuge of kids everywhere, heh. -Ferra -------------------- ℓєt γσυя sнσят ℓєgs cαяяү үσυ αωαү ωίtн үσυr тєℓєscσрє єүєs, мєtαl тєєтн. ί cαn'т bє sєєn ωiтh үσυ Kari - Newman Force - level 36 |

well, since I have the privilage of listening to music while I "work", I listen to lots and lots of things... but I won't list them here
I will follow DivA's wishes... The one song I did purposefully put on during my drive in this morning was Gary Numan - Metal Damn... that song kicks so much ass it's not even funny. Ferra - excellent choice, btw. Very good CD. Riel - totally brought me back to a happy childhood place. -------------------- |

NEXT!
Band: Dream Theater Song: Voices Lyrics: Voices 'Love, just don't stare' He used to say to me every Sunday morning The spider in the window The angel in the pool The old man takes the poison Now the widow makes the rules 'So speak, I'm right here' She used to say to me not a word, not a word Judas on the ceiling the Devil in my bed I guess Easter's never coming So I'll just wait inside my head Like a scream but sort of silent living off my nightmares Voices repeating me 'Feeling threatened? We reflect your hopes and fears.' Voices discussing me 'Others steal your thoughts they're not confined within your mind.' Thought disorder Dream control Now they read my mind on the radio But where was the Garden of Eden? I feel elated I feel depressed Sex is death, Death is sex Says it right here on my Crucifix Like a scream but sort of silent living off my nightmares Voices protecting me 'Good behavior brings the Savior to his knees.' Voices rejecting me 'Others steal your thoughts they're not confined to your own mind.' [Dialogue by rap artist Prix-mo reading from the book "Cultural Revolution".] "I don't wanna be here, 'cause of my suffering, 'cause of my illness. Only love is worth having, only love is what matters, loving every people on equal terms. " "You've got to know who you're dealin' with because, like a stranger, a-heh, just might come in through here with a gun... and then, what would you do? (Heh.)" "Everything is immaterial..." "'n' you know that reality is immaterial." "This is not reality..." I'm kneeling on the floor staring at the wall like the spider in the window I wish that I could speak Is there fantasy in refuge? God in politicians? Should I turn on my religion? These demons in my head tell me to I'm lying here in bed Swear my skin is inside out Just another Sunday morning Seen my diary on the newsstand Seems we've lost the truth to quicksand It's a shame no one is praying 'Cause these voices in my head keep saying... 'Love, just don't stare.' 'Reveal the Word when you're supposed to' Withdrawn and introverted Infectiously perverted 'Being laughed at and confused keeps us pleasantly amused enough to stay.' Maybe I'm just Cassandra fleeting Twentieth century Icon bleeding Willing to risk Salvation to escape from isolation I'm witness to redemption heard you speak but never listened Can you rid me of my secrets? Deliver us from Darkness? Voices repeating me 'Feeling threatened? We reflect your hopes and fears.' Voices discussing me Don't expect your own Messiah This neverworld which you desire is only in your mind. This song means alot to me also. I talk to alot of people about music, and to most of them this song is just a rant from a lonely guy. But, again, it's so much more than that. This song tells us of a way of life -- a way I, myself, live by. The notion of Love, Don't Stare means, to me, that the one problem in life is that there is no love, only gain. If everyone would love no matter what religion, color, race, hobby.. etc.. There are so many factors about life that keep people apart. But I believe that everyone is worth loving. Everyone can benifit everyone else. If we could only get these blind ideals out of our heads, accept each others' differences, the world could be a much, much, better place. "Love, just don't stare" |

I've been in the mood for Nevermore a lot lately, particularly this song. It inspires me on a tremendous level.
Band: Nevermore Song: Insignificant Ours is not to question the reasons why Crippled indecision repeats the path I once denied Insignificant, am I ? The color of sundown,of crimson sky The beauty that breaks down And gives the day unto the night And then one day you'll realize Just a speck in the spectrum Insignificant,am I ? And then one day you'll realize The beauty that breaks down never learns the reason why scan my horizon as blue turns to black the sky is gone again and all beneath are born to die insignificant,am I ? And then one day you'll realize Just a speck in the spectrum Insignificant,am I ? And then one day you'll realize The beauty that breaks down never learns the reason why *** As the lyrics and title both suggest, it tells a tale of one questioning his validity in the world and the obvious lack of fairness between the roles of individuals in this world. He is a pawn, just as the majority of the human race is, to some presumably higher power. The previously mentioned power can be human, as many of us are just pawns to political games and we never truly learn why these things happen, we just hear petty lies in forms of propoganda. It can also be taken in a spiritual sense where one questions his role in the cosmic sense, in reference to the classic ideal of fate. Regardless, this song appeals to me greatly because, by nature, I am a person who has always questioned everything, probably to an annoying extent. If I'm denied something, I'll always ask for the reason, and it has to be just. This is partially why I decided to persue philosophy as a career choice -- which is, in essense, a search for the truth. "Philosophy" literally translates into "Love of Wisdom" from ancient Greek. It also inspires me on a fictional level. I can almost see cutscenes (Heh, too much FFXI) of some fantastic tale every time I hear it, most likely because the music is so enchanting. I just wish I could put it all together, but I always see little bits and pieces. Anyway, that's my song -------------------- "So this Zealot comes to my door, all glazed eyes and clean reproductive organs, asking me if I ever think about God. So I tell him I killed God. I tracked God down like a rabid dog, hacked off his legs with a hedge trimmer, raped him with a corncob and boiled off his corpse in an acid bath. So he pulls an alternating-current taser on me and tells me that only the Official Serbian Church of Tesla can save my polyphase intrinsic electric field, known to non-engineers as 'the soul.' So I hit him. What would you do?" -- Warren Ellis, Transmetropolitan

Screw the one a day.. My Mood Fluctuates ro much for me to only post one a day
Band: Billy Joel Song: She's Alwyas A Women To Me Lyrics: She's Always A Woman She can kill with a smile She can wound with her eyes She can ruin your faith with her casual lies And she only reveals what she wants you to see She hides like a child But she's always a woman to me She can lead you to live She can take you or leave you She can ask for the truth But she'll never believe you And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free She steals like a thief But she's always a woman to me Oh, she takes care of herself She can wait if she wants She's ahead of her time Oh, and she never gives out And she never gives in She just changes her mind She will promise you more Than the Garden of Eden Then she'll carelessly cut you And laugh while you're bleedin' But she'll bring out the best And the worst you can be Blame it all on yourself Cause she's always a woman to me She is frequently kind And she's suddenly cruel She can do as she pleases She's nobody's fool But she can't be convicted She's earned her degree And the most she will do Is throw shadows at you But she's always a woman to me Haha, This is my Chimaera song. This song explains her pesrsonality more than she can herself. It also explains how the world will see her, but, "She's Always a Women to Me" Everytime I hear this song or even think about it, I can't help but cry. The power of love is amazing, to think, it's possible for one person to love another so much that the mere thought of them will change "shit" to "gold". Sigh.. I love that girl. |

Well, you can look at my sig for an obvious one.
But another song of LP that is one of my favorites is "In the End" Ahh.... "It starts with one thing, I don't know why, it doesn't even matter how hard ya try Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme to explain in due time All I know Time is a valuable thing, watch it count down as the pendalum swings Watch it count down to the end of the day the clock ticks life away It's so unreal Didn't look out below, watch the time go right out the window Trying to hold on, but didn't even know that I wasted it all Just to watch you go I kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time that *I tried so hard, and got so far But in the end, it doesn't even matter. I had to fall and lose it all, But in the end, it doesn't even matter.* One thing, I don't know why it doesn't even matter how hard ya try keep that in mind I designed this rhyme to remind myself how I tried so hard Despite of the way you were mocking me, I acted like I was part of your property Remembering all the times you've faught with me I'm surprised it got so far. Things aren't the way they were before You wouldn't even recognize me anymore Not that you knew me back then but it all comes back to me In the end I kept everything inside and even though I tried it all fell apart What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time that *chorus* I put my trust in you, pushed as far as I can go For all this, there's only one thing you should know I put my trust in you, pushed as far as I can go For all this, there's only one thing you should know.... *chorus* It's amazing too because I haven't listened for that song since last summer, but I still remember it so well. That's what I love about music; it doesn't fade from memory. -------------------- PSO...still alive and kicking |
