Well not as a main character, but in all three Shadow Hearts games theres been the openly gay shop keeper and his partner, and he hits on the main male character just every time you talk to him.

Yeah, so was vamp from MGS2.

Last time I checked, the reality of sexual life styles is portrayed in games, but queer eye for the straight guy just busted a groove on scene as a more primary character and I'm looking at it from a cultural view. Meaning japanese mainstream culture and its look at androgenous males and the new zeitgeist of the arsty designer homosexual that's being paraded more and more on public venues. I was looking at the cross cultural fusion.

Too much cross cultural thinking?

Seems like the guy is just a mincing stereotype, like some bullshit Will & Grace character. Not exactly a step forward, Volgin is much cooler beigelaugh.gif *nut check*.

On another note, why are the jibber-jabber cutscenes presented in that lame "2 dodes on the screen reacting to eachother?" Seems really cheesy and low-budget for 360's first JRPG outing.

I don't like the fact that they stereotype the character a lot, probably even so in the U.S. translation but on the other hand, you can keep the original Japanese voices with English subs if you want in this one.... i'm actually looking forward to Enchanted Arms for the 360...it got fair reviews so far and hopefully it sells well enough that we are going to see more JRPG's on the 360,to go along with the thousand FPS and racers out there.

homosexual or not, JRPG's milk the same stereotyped characters over and over again. In Enchanted Arms will be nothing new from JRPG's that have been played on the snes let alone the last few generations

Japanese or not i think the quality of RPGs over the past few, (5?) years has been poor at best, there has been a huge absence of originality and innovation, Hardly anything even worth playing outside of the MMO sub-genre.

Stereotypical, flamboyant gay characters are nothing short of really fucking annoying. bash.gif And so are those goddamn yaoi fangirls that come with it.
