That foolish kid... guess he'll have to play at a friend's house. As Crush said, he's fortunate nothing more happened. Had the technology existed at the time, my folks would've probably done the same with my NES and Super NES if I'd done the shit that kid did. They only made $122 from that system, so I guess they had the k id work off the remaining $55.

interesting.. =. but just as long as it's 110% clear that the ps2 did not make anyone do anything; parents are easier to assume that the technology tempts us to do "bad" things (why that is, i have no idea.. -_-) & if that had any measure of truth, then i would be top of the world's most wanted list.. ;p
... the child in question needs to re-think his choice of friends is all.. |

This is a good move on the parents part, given how his mom described how much he loved his PS2.
I know when I was a kid, the VERY WORST punishment I would ever recieve was getting my videogame privileges taken away. I would rather have 100 spankings, move the lawn for 8 hours stright, or write 10,000 word essay than have my goddamn videogames taken away. There was NOTHING I loved more, and nothing more important than games. And believe me, I got my games taken away many-a-time . -------------------- |

You and me both. To me, it was a fate worse than death. Had my parents done this with my NES/SNES back in the day, I'd probably be on Prozac right now, or in prison. -------------------- "Computers are incredibly fast, accurate and stupid. Hahahaha, Oh man... I'm checking out how many views that auction got.
*thinks* If I were to make up some BS story, so I can get tons of publicity, I wonder how much it would increase traffic to my auction? I'm not saying that the person who wrote up the story is lying or anything, but it's something to consider if your totally busted(Although, it is a totally dishonorable thing to do). EDIT: I love the fact how she taunts the kid by putting up his email address... Imagine the emails: "OMG sux to be j00 turkey!!!111 Now i will play my PS2 all day long, just for you." |

Reminds me of something that happened to me....
My brother and his friend were sitting in the front seats of out step-dad's car, and being the little tagalong brother, I was sitting in the back. Several hours later, my step-dad and my mom were screaming about someone "ripping the speakers" out of the back. My brother was quick to point the finger at me for some reason, and my mom believed him. They made me sit in my room for hours and hours until I "tell the truth", until I just finally decided to give them what they wanted and "Admit" to ripping out these speakers. I must have been like 5 or 6 I had no idea what was going on. But, as a result, my NES was taken away, put in a paper bag, and put in the top of the closet where I couldn't reach. I beleive they sold it to the neighbors after that. I didn't get to play anymore video games for a long time. -------------------- dueling, remade for modern audiences |

heh, just a thought, but if child services saw this auction, couldn't thay take action against the parents, not for the ps2, but for the underage drinking?
But any way that kid had it coming |

What can you expect if you do all that crap. Just a little tap on the wrist and a warning? Don't count on it. And that's a good point, KS. -------------------- PSO...still alive and kicking |

Hey, the kid is under age and the PS technically belongs to the parents. They can do with it what they wish. Actually, child services would smile (I am sure) for the good they are doing for their child This thing is halarious!!! I am laughing reading the while thing! -------------------- Level

I know, that's how I am, I rememeber one time I boarded up my door so my dad couldn't take my NES away, he broke in and I decided my "super cool *Cheesey grin and thumbs up* Ninja turtle Bo could stop him.... Needless to say I sat gameless with a sore bottom. -------------------- Skype: Afroforce |
