I was a little curious. I used to play this game a lot back in the day when it first turned Beta (long time ago, like 3-4 years ago) and I stuck with it until FFXI started. Ive started playing it again cuz my friend kept bugging me about it. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone here plays cuz Im at the point where it's really boring to level by your lonesome (My friends are all too high for me to level with, 99knight and 94 priest >.<) I recently hit level 70 with my rogue in three weeks (why the hell couldnt my whm go that fast lol) and I was wondering if theres anyone I can party with. THis is Sakray server by the way ^^

I honestly can't see how people can keep playing RO. It has to be one of the shittiest online games I've had the displeasure of trying.

I find RO to be relaxing after stressful times when playing other mmorpg's where you have to group no matter what to level up. In RO I can basicly solo and do things on my own 80% of the time.
Course I still don't think RO should be something to pay for to play --------------------

I still play every so often. But as of now, my account is expired, so I thought I would take a little break. I'm sure I'll go back to it eventually. My main character, who's a Knight named Rutgen, is located on the chaos server.

Exactly one of the reasons why I quit iRO so long ago. I would play iRO again if: 1. Drop rate is upped. As it stands, it's pretty difficult to make money in iRO. In FFXI, at least there's crafts and quests you can undertake to have income. And no, you don't have to bend over backwards and go through the process of creating and leveling yet another character (i.e. Merchant/Blacksmith) just to obtain that money. Think a good deal of items in FFXI are expensive? Try RO, you'll hate it more. 2. Control the idiots. Jeebus, everyone and their mother likes using dead branches in towns where most people go to trade. At higher levels, 1% means hours of XP gaining. To those of lower level, it's more of a huge inconvinience, especially when you have to travel halfway around Rune-Midgard just to get back to where you were. 3. Killstealing and looting. God. I can't remember for the life of me how many times I've gotten players who come up to my monster and smack the hell out of it. And the looting. I've lost several cards through that BS. Do items automatically go into your inventory when you kill the monster, ala FFXI? No, they drop on the ground, vulnerable to being picked up. Don't tell me about the anti-looting patches, those don't mean squat when you're lagging those precious 5 seconds of the anti-loot away. 4. Storyline. RO doesn't have a storyline, period. You go out and kill monsters, possibly MvPs. Maybe get into your second classes. Not really much to see afterwards, that's practically a good 50% of the game. Seriouly. I've had more fun roaming around on private RO servers where the GMs decide on random events and other things are more fair. I'm glad I moved to FFXI. 1: Pfft, making money isn't that hard at all. Of course, you need to know what you're doing :D Having a merchant does help a lot.
2: Dude, I loved doing DBs in town, and BTW YOU DON'T LOSE XP IN TOWNS. In any case, they stopped intown usasge ;_; But seems to promote indungeon usage now. 3: Could be bots.. never had that issue personally 4: When has an MMORPG really need a story? It's about the community. |

So be it, that's your take on the game, Kyori.
I've had worse experiences there than I care to remember, really. Good riddance to old rubbish, I say. --------------------
.:yawn...:.

Current Addiction(s) -
Phantasy Star Universe
La-Mulana
