thought of the moment..

~if given a choice, do you feel that we have evolved or de-evolved as a culture? if you choose one or the other, then why do you feel the way you do?

That depends, if your talking physically, theres only one way to go, that being up, evolution continues in an upward rate.

But if you mean in terms of a mentallity sense, i think we've de-evolved. Humans are greedy, careless, and mean, thats the way we are and thats always the way we'll be, if we can jump for the oppourtunity before anyone else we will. We're not all bad, but i've seen to many people harrassed for being fat, gay, ugly or dumb. People don't reach out anymore, so in all honesty, i think we've gone down.

Edit: I'm not saying everyones bad or everyones mean, and i'm not saying perfect by any means, i'm an extreme hypocrit and i believe i'm far from the perfect person ;)

As a culture we have de-evolved greatly. Now we wage wars for money, oil and many other materialistic things. Everyone wants to be the best and they don't care who they have to kill to get there.

In the olden days, when Naitive Americans walked the US, sure they had wars, but for survival. They didn't kill so that they could have more money, or gas for their cars. It was war for food. Sure I don't think food should be fought over, of you have it, share it, but when no one has it... you know where I'm going with this.

besides war, I don't see how anything else has changed, there was always upper and lower class. the ugly and fat, the gay and straight and in all times in life these people were persecuted.

So as a culture, we've go nowhere, since day one (if you take out war as a factor)

"War is so jiggy fly dawg! We live for da money and da sex, y'all! Watch me roll down da street in my Bentley wearin' all this bling! Smudge my shoes, I bust a cap in yo ass!"

That about sums up how we've de-evolved as a race. Even an illustration how our English language has deteriorated.

This reminds me of Super Mario Brothers the movie !

I wan't to be de-evolved into a Kupa-Trooper, even though they weren't in the movie.

I feel we have evolved as a culture. We are now more able to convey greater thoughts and ideas to a larger amount of people and in a faster way. People say that our society has gone down but I rebut this by saying it has stayed the same as it always was.

When the Cro-Magnum first appeared on earth there where not many and the Neantherdals where the dominant species. But eventually the Cro-Magnum pretty much became the dominate species and exterminated the Neatherdals.

Now these war hungry, money grubbing people we know are the "Neantherdals" while the newer breed of people are the Cro-Magnum. They soon will replace the Neantherdals but, not yet. As they are currently only a small amount.
