Also, just specualtion but Nintendo has more to say tomorrow and may finally announce price and release date. Stay tuned!

Edit: It seems as though the Wiiconnect24 feature will be more akin to how Animal Crossing is. You go to sleep wake up and there is new content. Developers may have created a new level or weapon that users can download. Also Animal Crossing wasn't showcased but it has been confirmed for Nintendo Wii.

Edit:
Nintendo has also released a shell for the controler

Nintendo made no mention of the controller shell at today's media briefing, but hopefully we'll learn more when the E3 show floor opens tomorrow.

Good stuff! Keep it coming!

...I like it!

The way they present Wii, it really does look like it'll get all kinds of new gamers and non-gamers into the scene.

This generation is gonna be interesting.

A lot of goodness was put into this it seems, I hope the price is still around $150-$200 like I heard.

I haven't bought a console in years, but damn, this has me kinda stoked I admit. Can't wait to actully get my hands on one. mario.gif

The nintendo fan in me is pooping himself with excitement. mario.gif

I don't think anything still gets me more psyched than a new nintendo console, no matter how wacky or wii-erd.

Two different zeldas is kinda weird though... Will the GC one come out earlier than the Wii version?

Its seems as though both versions of Zelda will be released the same day. Nintendo wants to keep their promise that there would be another Zelda for the Gamecube. The amount of information coming out is mind boggling. I can't wait to see what other announcments we will see in the coming months.

You can do some pretty cool stuff with the Wii controller on Twilight Princess, http://gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?fs=1&id=2631 I'd think it would take a bit of getting used to though, but some awesome ideas are used. I think I might go this direction when it comes out haha.

so far im underwhelmed by the Wii. the one game i want to see hasnt showed up yet. Smash bros 3 [where?]

I love the speed at which the guy was able to switch from normal combat, to aiming, back to running around. It will definetly be weird to get used to at first, but I think Wii-chuks might be a big evolution in VG control.

QUOTE
May 10, 2006 - Nintendo just pulled a fast one on us. At an after-hours press briefing a mere minute ago, the company pulled another ace out of its sleeve: Super Smash Bros. Brawl -- the next installment in Nintendo's popular Super Smash Bros. series.

Shigeru Miyamoto himself has confirmed the following playable characters:

# Pit (Kid Icarus)
# Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid)
# Zero Suit Samus (the blue "no-suit" Samus from Metroid: Zero Mission)
# Meta-Knight (Kirby)
# Wario (Wario)

Under the direction of series creator Masahiro Sakurai, Super Smash Bros. Brawl will feature two control modes: motion-controlled and classic, GameCube-style combat. That means players who prefer to play the game with the traditional control setup can do so using the GameCube controller they're already accustomed to while the new motion control adds a new dimension previously not available in fighting games.

The game also features a range of new nasty toys, such as the ability to unleash a puppy from Nintendogs that will run up to the screen, put its paws up and obscure the view of the action. Mario, Kirby, Pikachu and Link have been confirmed as returning characters.

Even better, the game will be fully online playable in addition to featuring a robust multiplayer mode.

The bad news is that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will no longer be a Wii launch title, but will instead be released in 2007.

Solid Fucking Snake... RIGHT ON!
