yes, yes - i am a fan for "steampunk" & this film shall fit the bill nicely; also, the web-site is well done, lots of useful insight here *possible spoilers* ;p though, the main reason for this link is to view the trailer - enjoy.. beigesmile.gif

Yeah, that movie looks unique. I've liked the trailers I've seen so far, I'll probably see it when it comes out beigebigrazz.gif

It looks interesting and sucky at the same time. The setting is definetly cool, and from the trailer the action seems alright...but like a lot of recent action movies, it seems like it could easily fall apart in the final execution.

The movie is based apond the comic of the same name, written by Alan Moore and drawn by Kevin O'Neill. From the preveiws of the movie I've seen, I can tell they have made a lot of embellishments from the origional characters. You guys should check out the comic. The first volume is out in grapic novel form and its not exspensive ether.

This movie looks way cool!
Hey, Knightsword, from just the previews that you've seen, do you think the movie adaptation looks better or worse?

side note - does anyone else think that Sean Connery is affecting his accent? It seems to be getting more and more "stage-like" or something. beigesmile.gif

Hey, I seen the previews and it looks like a good movie...but this does not always hold true that movies are as good as the preview attached to them. It is yet to be seen if I will see this movie. I might wait until a friend checks it out first.

From what I've seen the movie seems to be just as good as the comic. and Hide really looks like that in the comic, but Mina Murry is not a vampire and the invisible man is not the thief They have in the movie but rather the scientist that created the invisiblity serum.

*nods* the comic is brilliant - very insightful.. *ponders* though i wonder, where does Dorian Gray come into play, as well as Tom Sawyer? are they known later in the series, or is this custom for the upcoming film? ~hmmm, after absorbing the first novella of the series - Sean Connery's role as Mr. Quartermain is now questionable for some reason.. =.

A picture of Dorian Gray appears in the comic on a wall with past members of the League and in fact the picture is I refer to is the cover of the graphic novel of volume 1, As for Tom Sawyer, I'm guessing its the get us viewers here in the US more involved in the movie.

I love the comic series, Alan Moore is one of my favorite writers. I seriously hope the movie does the series justice.

Speaking of Alan Moore, have any of you read any of the other America's Best Comics titles? I have a few like Tom Strong, Terrific Tales. Great stuff. Also, Watchmen anyone?

I'd have to agree on the embellishment part. It loses a lot if the characters don't act like they do in the comic. (BTW wonderful read, you should all go pick it up..) Nina wears a scarf constantly, which I believe hides the bite marks from a vampire. I'm kinda foggy on this, since I just got into LXG (horrible shortened name ahoy!) but I do believe she was bitten and it isn't revealed until much later on.

Jekyll is perfect though.

Dive: Watchmen is too good. :d

after seeing this film last night, i have concluded the following ~ if you are a serious fan for the comic, then put that aspect aside on a shelf before seeing the film.. if you do not, then it may upset the hardcore purists.. i had to do this & approach the film for what it is ~ by itself, it was entertaining..

my only quirk ~ there is such a thing as too much action, especially towards the end ~ it kind-of drossed over the experience.. =. the characters (with exception of Tom Sawyer..) were more-or-less similar to the comic book.. hmmm, exception goes to Quartermann ~ i like how Quartermann is found in the comic book much better than the film.. then again, these are the little things..

special effects were impressive though.. ^.-

So I saw it tonight. All I can really say is... meh. =/ I think I could have found a better way to spend six bucks.

It sorta felt like... the last two StarWars movies, I guess. Everything felt a little rushed. Like it could've been a way cool story if they had just taken a little longer to tell it. The characters were cool... plenty of cool scenes and effects and stuff... but, overall... meh. =/

I think I should've seen this one before I saw Pirates of the Caribbean. ;p I liked Pirates so much, LXG couldn't have hoped to top it.

Saw it last night as well, but I don't know how I feel about it *shrug. Not too bad, but not too good either. Ah well, it was pretty enjoyable I guess.
