I've only heard half but I gotta add some stuff. Mostly about Monster Hunter Tri.
First off. Game looks nice FOR THE WII. My biggest complaint with the Wii is the shit ain't HD. Even after I got the component cables I still get mad that the shit ain't in HD. With that said, I still think it's a fantastic game. I think some points you guys forgot to talk about is the survival aspect. Which is more evident once you hit 31+HR Missions online, and advance missions in offline. In fact you guys didn't even talk about the offline campaign, and how it now feels like it has a real story and how you get attached to the NPC's and how satisfying the ending is and how it compliments the online experience. Finally just the world of monster hunter tri, how it feels like your in an actual breathing world. Also, I think Crush was too harsh on Dante's Inferno. It's like Bioshock 2. Not a bad game, but not a good game. -------------------- "Brotherhood asked for no friendship, only loyalty. Not a bad game, but not a good game. You're right about the Monster Hunter stuff. I know we only touched the surface of the game but we had to trim the show down a bit. I already made a point to discuss the game a bit more in the next episode since I just hit the 5 star quests. I know we had a conversation about the offline mode stuff. I would disagree about how the game looks. I think it holds itself just fine against some of the HD offerings of the PS3 and 360. The only thing visually that bothers me is the text display. Sometimes it's very hard to discern. -------------------- |

Great episode guys! Thanks, Scan! Also, Dante's Inferno fucking sucks and I loathed every minute I was playing the game. The ONLY good part I can remember was the battle against Dante's brother-in-law, the big knight templar guy. That battle actually required you to use the game's combat mechanics in a meaningful way to survive. Every other part of the game is bland, the level design is boring, the camera sucks half the time, the upgrades don't make you feel more powerful. I can go on. The game blows donkey balls, that's all there is to it. -------------------- |

I think the only reason why you're so grave with your opinion on Dante's Inferno is because you played Bayonetta fairly close to your experience with Dante's Inferno. It's similar to going out with a super hot girl then ending that relationship and not wanting to go out with a girl thats average looking cause you've still got the super hot girl in your mind. Also I've noticed that when renting games it's a lot easier to be critical of the game then when you buy it. In fact I think that because we buy the game we tend to sugar coat it because we don't want to feel like we wasted money. I.E. me and White Knight Chronicles. -------------------- "Brotherhood asked for no friendship, only loyalty. I think not having a monetary tie to the game is a good thing when giving impressions though, because it does let you go "ok is this worth my TIME" rather then "well i spent 60 bones so i better make the MOST of it." You just can't fall into the "pirates trap" of playing the game for 15 mins then writing it off as shitty because it didn't hook you immediately. But I don't see that being an issue with any of us, we give games a fair shot, and I like to at least finish a game completely before I make my final judgement call. -------------------- |
