The new quest is up, and its a doozy! (Doozy wtd?)
Administrator Natasha orders your team to go clean out the East Control Tower of badguys so they can recover the research data from Pioneer 1 that is left in there. Seems simple enough, but if you find our good friend Hopkins in the town square, he informs you that his father, the dapper Paganini wants you to retrieve the Pioneer 1 computer data and deliver it to him before Natasha and the Lab are able to get ahold of it. Dun-dun-dun the PSO plot thickens!
This is probably the hardest quest I have played. Sure Seat of the Heart is harder to do beacause Elly dies all the time, but this one is actually challenging! You go through CCA, 9 Floors of CCT, and have a final face off with Epsilon on the lab at the top of the tower. There are tons of Mercarol (and the rare forms of him), Gibbles, Del Lily, Gi-Gue, and Recon/Recoboxes, and a few Il-Gill's and Delbiters to spice things up.
After you complete the quest and deliver the data to Paganini, you can enter the Gallon's shop quest, and use your PDs to modify your S-rank weapons! Paganini will add a special move to your S-rank for a PD fee. Alisha got Zalure added to her mechguns, and it seems to be super-powerful (Level 50?) zalure, just like we remember from the S-ranks off of PSOv2. Now our s-ranks can be even cooler
Also, from the way Administrator Natasha was talking, we will probably have to visit the west tower some time in the future to clean it out too.... Paganini is talking about some great project he's working on, and he'll show it to us later... Is that the ES weapons, or somethins else?
Sounds like a really tough quest. Dammit... another thing on which to spend PDs... Hmmmm... build bkb or upgrade champion sword... Decisions decisions...
Sounds exciting! ^.^ Unfortunately, I really need to get an S-Rank weapon first. I've got a few characters progressed on various late CMode stages, so hopefully I can pump out one or two S-Ranks sometime soon. By the way, is the skill that Paganini adds completely random or can you select from a list? Anyhow, I'll definately be on tonight to try out the quest. Thanks for the info, Crush. ;-)
Holy flying cats batman That is so freaking dope Now I gotta get C-mode wep fast. Anyone ever see me Im always up for some c-mode. Thanks for the info crush.
oh man! i knew i didn't get all those s-ranks for nothing how many PD's does it take to add an ability and is it random or do you get to choose? i woulda been on last night but we had a memorial day BBQ with neighbors, so..
see you online tonite!
Just did this quest like 4 times already. It's a very cool quest. The 9th floor was hell for me and the teams I went with. I didn't see Pag after finishing the quest. Just saw Hopkins saying his dad was in the middle of a major project. I wonder what happens if you bring him a photon sphere... But thanks to this development, As said before, I'm in a bit of a dilemma as to which I should spend my pd's on... I guess it depends on how many it takes to upgrade the srank.
You can choose from a list which options to add to your weap. The more PDs you offer (I think the increments are 30, 40, and 50) the better options you get to choose. We still don't know if you can add more than one power to a weap yet, though. Imagine if you could have a weap with Zalure, Jellen, HP Revival, TP Revival, and oh lets say BERSERK! All at once!
If such were the case, I'd imagine they would be selected at random when you hit the "special" button.

That sounds pretty cool, if think about it you could get Srank shot and put jellen/zalure on two sperate shots. Then you'd be a bootleg FOcast.
Great... I just HAD to trade a whopping 60 or so drops the night before I knew about this, now I'm just left with 13 frickin drops!
BTW:
50 Drops
Arrest
Hell
Demon's
Jellen
Zalure
40 Drops
Berserk
Spirit
King's
Chaos
Gush
Geist
30 Drops
Burning
Tempest
Blizzard
HP-Revival
TP-Revival
I'm tempted to get my rifle a hell special, but everyone knows the god awful ATA on S ranks.. *get's zalure*
From our testing last night on Ult seabed, the Zalure attack from Alisha's mechguns hit all the time. I don't know if its the same accuracy for all the element, but it seems pretty damn good.
Needless to say:
PSO just got better.
And dam, add abilities to s-ranks...?
dang it i had 6 weapons.
Corruption couldn't happen at a better time. =(
Anyway, back on topic:
I have to say that this is the best f-in' quest I've ever played. Of course if it weren't for a certain someone, I wouldn't had a chance hehe.
One warning: Do not play this quest on Ultimate with whiny noobs. It will be more frustrating and difficult than it already is. ESPECIALLY if you're a Force.

I completely agree. This new quest is not only a blast to play, but it also alleviates my initial dissapointment over Seat of the Heart being a single player quest, and the GC version s-ranks being considerably lamer than their DC counterparts. |
I love this quest!! quite brief but it's pretty much all i can say. the only bad point is that with my regular playing bunch, i find it quite flabbergastingly (it's now an adverb!!) easy....even on ULT on my not quite level 100 FO.... I've always had the knack for dodging the mericarol's megid, and casting techniques quickly in between, and just find it easy, but fun nonetheless. I'm not sayign i'm great (and if i did say it i'd be like completely wrong), just runnign around with a leevl 160 FO, level 192 HUnewearl, an extremely good level 127 HUmar or a level 200 HUcaseal makes things a tad easy, especially with my 50% hit vulcs, a guy with a 30% hit ASUKA and blade with some 50% hit L&K's, i wish they could make it harder in the sense of harder attacks and different attack patterns, rather than just slapping megid on every enemy there is..... coz i just find megid boring. I can on the most part dodge megid easily, even with 3 mericarol's gatherred in a circle i can time it right, and when they do hit me i have 74 Dark resistance.....
I love the quest
I love the new enemies
I love the new area
why can't they make it more of a challenge........
