Anyone see it? If you're a fan of the series I'm sure you'll like it. It was a LOT more like the game than the first was. Lots of guns, zombies, dark areas...and Jill was kickin some serious ass. Nemesis was damn cool too he even has a "S.T.A.R.S." line! It drags down at LOT at the ending though, but they make it way cool by adding something from one of the RE games. (spoiler if at the bottom) Now I think it could have been even better with a more involved story, but overall it was pretty cool. And now for that spoiler...
Remember that really tight FMV with Claire in Code: Veronica where she outruns the helicopter? Yeah, they do that in the movie. Right after that, they do the part where she drops her gun and catches it while falling too. It was a nice touch. And if it's not common knowledge, Carlos is in the movie. And so is a character named "Nicholai" who I think may be the same dude from RE 3's Mercenaries mini game. -------------------- <center>

I saw the movie friday. I thought it was better than the first. There's one more bit I noticed. The doctor's last name was Ashford just like in the game (I just bet we'll see that crossdressing freak from RE: Code Veronica in a future movie.) Now that I think of it, all of those scenes were from RE: Code Veronica.

I'm a HUGE fan of tha game, but the first movie made me not want to see the second. I'll just wait till I can catch it on cable, paying for things SUCKS.

I've been waiting for this movie to come out for a while now, but none of my buddies wanted to go and see it with me this past Friday. Good to see you guys enjoyed it. I was afraid it was just gonna be litte more than a big special effects film. I'll try to see it this week.

I thought his movie was absolutely horrible. I actually LIKED the first Resident Evil movie, too.
To me it felt like "Apocalypse" was just a clusterfuck of cheesy action scenes thrown together. Even disregarding the way it TOTALLY fucks over the way to game story plays out in RE3, the movie was just dumb as hell. SPOILER ROAD AHEAD: USE CAUTION! The first moment the movie turned bad was when Alice (Milla Jovovich) comes flying thru the church's stained glass and makes her bike magically fly into the air after colliding with the Licker... Other shit I didn't like: -Jill Valentine's "bad ass cop who makes her own rules" attitude. -Nemesis with a heart of gold. I was just waiting for him to cry a tear when they zoomed in on his eye. -Nemesis is a remote controlled ROBOT? WTFm8? -Black comic relief guy... Writer: "Hmm how about if I put a black guy from "tha hood" in the movie, and make him say "muthafucka" a lot? Yeah that is comedy gold~!" -Why the fuck were they KARATE CHOPPING zombies and punching them and shit? SHOOT THEM! -The shitty fast-cut style of the fights (especially the "mortal kombat" between Alice and Nemesis) where a lot of nothing is happening, but you CAN'T FUCKING TELL BECAUSE THE CAMERAWORK IS SO SHITTY. -How come the Nemesis never wen't all tentacle-monster and shit? That was when he was at his coolest. -A lot of movies are guilty of this... but when the umbrella scientist guy is locked out of his Login access... he types "HACK COMPUTER" and it FUCKING HACKS AND LOGS HIM IN? WTF WTF WTF. -The ending... WTF so they amplify Alice's powers to be PSYCHIC? And she can control computers and cameras? And Jill, Carlos, Huggy Bear, AND that damn little kid survive the goddamn helicopter crash? And then Alice is a robot/cyborg controlled by umbrella? WHAT THE FUCK? Some stuff I did like: +Nemesis looked like the "real deal"... too bad he moved so stupidly. At least he wasn't CG though. +Jill Valentine was fuckin' SMOKIN'. +Zombie Titties. +Alice looked cool kicking ass and taking names. +The black guy was ALIVE at the end of the movie. I think this must have been a script error. +Replaying the whole RE:CV opening thing was pretty cool. Vitamin D: It had Carlos, Nikolai, and Yuri from RE3 but played them out as generic badguy-turned hero types, instead of the cooler way they were in the game. I was feelin' the story, and all the RE game tie-ins. Definitely worth the money in my opinion, for what it's worth. So if you're thinkin' about seein' it....DO IT, DO IT.

I enjoyed the movie. I agree it wasnt the best film out there, but if it played out exactly like Nemesis, noone would have seen it because everyone would know what was going to happen. I did get the cheesy feeling when they first showed Jill in the police station, and it was weird how everyone in the crash survived. At least one death or another body to test with would have been more believeable.

Yah.....this definetly sounds like a movie i dont want to see, i'll be keeping my money as well. This director has still yet to deeply impress me Negatives: AVP (perhaps) RE:2 Positives: Event Horizon Neutrals: RE1 And unfortunetly a negative and a nerutral dont make up for the one positive *sigh* just as well though, i know no other movies this man has done, crush, please tell me they DIDN'T leave it open for another RE movie. |

Yes, they had the worst "dun dun DUN its not over yet!" ending ever. And with RE:A taking number one in the box office last weekend... they might just have an excuse to make a 3rd one

My whole post is spoilers, don't read it if you wanna see this atrocious movie spoiler-free....(why ya in the thread then huh? ;) -----------
lmfao! Me too! They zoomed in on it so much, I was just waiting and waiting for a tear to trickle down his cheek...haha
God I know! It was HORRIBLE! Whoever the director was needs to be shot. It was so confusing and blurry and a lot of the damn action sequences didn't make sense.
Actually, (and I could be forgetting) I don't think she controlled the cameras or anything. She did look at the security guard and "do something" to him that made him bleed out the nose real bad and die. They're kind of implying what was implied in Code Veronica with Alexia. Alexia deliberately infected herself with the virus and went into stasis for 25 years to adapt. Alice didn't have to adapt that long apparently, and now she has the same god-like power Alexia Ashford had. But they're mucking with the game continuity and the games are actually GOOD while these movies suck ass real bad. -------- Nicholai was actually in RE:3's main game too. He died much cooler in the game though.  He was older too...the guy playing him in the movie looked really young.I don't like what they're doing with the movies here. Originally, the movies were supposed to intergrate with the games. But that's obviously not true-Nicholai dies completely different, Carlos got infected, the whole Nemesis thing alone...it's just completely screwing the continuitiy of the games up, and they arent' even screwing it up for a really good storyline. And who the f*** is Charles Ashford and his daughter Angela? Talk about screwing crap up! Ugh! I know they're trying to make the movies so they aren't exactly like the games, but I'd much rather they just screenplay the games and make those into movies than these lame re-write efforts they've been slapping up on screen. Honestly, about the coolest scene in the whole movie was the classroom of little kids taking the reporter chick down like a giant meat popsicle while her camera recorded it. I adore the games. I really hate the RE movies. They're terrible. They obviously set it up for a third one too, ugh ugh ugh.
