So, I was buying a used game today - Shadowman 2 - and I was thinking to myself, "I loved Shadowman 1 for the DC, I hope this game is just as fun." Which then caused me to ask tis question to you guys.
What do you think are some underapreciated games? or even games that you like, for whatever reason, that really no one else liked I know these questions are tired and old, but play along anyways. My list - Shadowman (DC). Good adventure. Good story. Excellent and creepy sounds. Not too hard. Good length too. You are this guy who's littel brother is killed and you get "cursed" to track down several serial killers. Part of your curse allows you to travel back and forth between the living world and the dead world. Another one was this tank game called Wild Metal (DC). It was slow as hell and not very exciting (ie: fast), but I played it all the time. Mediocre 3D graphics hurt the initial wow factor for most people I would imagine. Still, I loved it. More to follow.... -------------------- |

One game I could think of is Paladin's Quest (Lennus in Japan) on the SNES.

~lol, i'll admit that Shadowman 1 for the dreamcast was one of my favorites - a sleeper hit, a game that i played through several times without being bored; i wish i had the opportunity to play the PC version, for i was informed that the visuals were superior for its time.. ^^.
for my choice, i would have to say that there is a game for the ps2 that completely enchanted your's truly...the name of this title is Kya, Dark Lineage & i'll post a link below.. Kya, Dark Lineage this game, though unpopular with the mainstream, is worth playing...the concept, story, graphics & play mechanics were all well presented & it was delightful to play ~ i enjoyed it, at least.. ^^` but like i said, within an industry where many eagerly await the next great mainstream "testosterone~murder/death/kill sc-fi/army" cliche' promoted games ~ Kya will most likely follow shadowman's fate, as a sleeper hit.. |

Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball. It was such an excellent volleyball simulation!
>.>;; Seriously though, excellent topic scu. One game series I would like to include here is the Magical Drop series. It wasn't too popular in the US, so I dunno if I can categorize it as totally underappreciated but this game series was one of the best fast paced puzzle games I've ever played. I had it for the longest time as a ROM for my NeoGeo emulator but I finally broke down and purchased the Saturn version off eBay about a year or so ago. Unfortunately there is no English language option so I usually just play the arcade mode instead of the story mode. =p Check it out if you get the chance. You won't be disappointed. -------------------- PSN ID: USF_Tailgater

ah... excellent. Another Shadowman fan. :D
Icarus, I have heard about ICO, but I don't know anything about it. What makes it so cool? Have you seen that there is going to be a new Metal Slug out in May? Hey, Retehi. A leg kill still counts. -------------------- |

Yeah I like SNK vs Capcom despite the bad rap it has. I have it on Xbox. Sure its a basic fighter compared to Capcom vs SNK 2 or Street Fighter 3, but hey Street Fighter 2 series was basic. I like Mr. Karate. -------------------- |
