It's terrible that he's dead, but some (morbid) part of me wished he would have gone out fighting a more deadly animal.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Freak accident death from a sting ray seems kinda of a wonky way to go for him. The worst part is that he's leaving behind some young children.
