It's awesome. I've been playing all day, and I was going to write a post about it's unexceedable awesomeness, but i'm wasting precious Wii time. I hope you understand my position here.

I'm enjoying mine myself. I'm geeking over the Wiiconnect functionality. Took me 2 seconds to set it up, and it immediately started downloading the system updates. I got my cellphone registered with my system and everything so I can send text messages between the two if I like. Big plus for me, since I like intergrating my cell phones with as many things possible.

Also, I like how Wii has a subtle "toy" feeling to it. By toy I mean in the techy fun gadget kind of way. Like you come in my room and its like "Oooooh what is that thing with the neon blue light!" Really neat machine. Neat interface. Shit the accessories are neat also. This is the first console launch where I've seen people load up a basket full with everything offered.

I just picked up the console and Zelda personally. But this weekend I'm going to pickup the Best Buy starter kit bundle (if there are any left), along with an extra remote and nunchuck and a classic controller. My co-worker said the silicone covers are awesome. I think a cover is a must with the smooth white color. I can seem my controller getting dirty fast.

What are you talking about man? Zelda for Wii isn't reason enough to get one? The only system that can't be justifyed this year is Playstation 3! Everything is $$!

The best way I can describe Twilight Princess right is "freakin sick." You will be surprised that this one actually takes some time to get through, much like an epic rpg of Final Fantasy calibur. I been playing pretty much non-stop except I had to work today. My game time is at 16 hours or so, and I'm just now able to enter the 3rd dungeon (the early dungeons are way longer than any Zelda to date, and challenging). Much unlike Ocarina and Wind Waker where I blazed through 5 dungeons on the first day. For TP I played all day and got to half way point of the 2nd dungeon. Checking some forums right now, most people are no further than this. There is a lot of variety in gameplay too, so you never know what is going to be thrown at you to advance through the game, while you still have the classic Zelda quest layout similar to Link to the Past and Ocarina.

The game gives you way less hints on what to do than any other Zelda I have notice. I have been stuck many times, and from looking at forums the same applies to others. The game is very environmental/visual so some clues are remembering back to something subtle that happen in a cutscene hours back, or remembering passing something you saw.

Last thing before I get back to the game. I've found one secret cave, so far, and man that sucked up a good 20 minutes. It was worth it though to keep going through it even though I was on one heart left, no arrows, and down to my last drop of lamp oil(after two refills too). Really had my heart pounding. Thats another thing dont expect stuff to give you hearts back like they used to.

Oh man, third dungeon time.

Ok, now that the batteries in my Wii remote have died, let me give you my take on some of the games I have played on this spectacular system.

Red Steel - Personally, I think red steel sucks. I got a little bit into the game, and throughout my play time I had a lot of trouble getting anywhere because the game has a bug where the shooter curser will reset to the middle at random. (during gun fights included.) The story is kind of weak, and the voice acting is very sub par. Conclusion? Dog shit. Enjoy the pre-played bin at gamestop.

2/10

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Incredible isn't enough to explain how excellent this game really is. For the first time in a Zelda i'm REALLY getting into all of the characters as opposed to the main characters. It has a lot of revisiting features towards Ocarina of time. (Specifically, the music. Some people may not notice, but a few certain parts have the dungeon ocarina songs.)

Graphically LoZ is really good for a gamecubes standards, I also realize this game wasn't intended to have Wii graphics since this game was originally meant to be a Gamecube game. (in other words, just added the control scheme.) I've already put in about 27 hours into LoZ, and I shall continue to do more tomorrow!

Edit: Oh yah, the water temple does it again!

10/10

Trauma Center: Second Opinion - Its just a remake of the DS game really, with a few extra missions. That doesn't mean it's not worth playing however! I think the game has much better handling on the wii than it did on the DS, as you aren't spending any time rushing back and forth to pick up your tools. (the nunchuck takes care of that.) Better visuals to see what you're doing, very fun game.

7/10

1-3: Crap. Congratulations on your new coaster.
4-6: Ok. Better for renting.
7-8: Good! Good for one play through, not always a whole lot of replayability.
9: Excellent game! Worth owning.
10: A must have. Nuff said.

I nearly forgot! The system itself is incredible. I was very pleased the way the system ended up the way it did, because I was very sceptic about it for a long time. It's like playing video games again for the first time, because it's an all new experience, and a fun one! My only pet peeve is what brought me here today. My Wii remote batteries have run out, so now I must wait until morning to get more. :(

Until a charger is released (if) this is going to get costly.

I agree. I cant wait this weekend, since I will be picking up more games and some virtual console games. I need to pick up an extra remote and nunchuck, and classic controller which will be difficult since they are sold out everywhere. Hopefully, black friday will bring a new shipment. Good thing I can use a gamecube controller with some of the Virtual Console games. I'm going to download Mario 64, Bonk, Altered Beast, and Sonic.

But I love the controller. It is so easy to pick up, and start playing. What I love is the remote and nunchuck is free floating. What I mean is it allows you to be more active while playing a game because each hand is not at rest while your fingers are doing work. That is why I stopped playing console games, I would be sitting down playing them and I would get too tired to finish the game because all I'm doing is pressing buttons with my hands and arms in the same position. Its a blood flow thing I believe. I'm in the same position for the duration of the game, and my body starts to relax. For me it really makes a difference that my left hand is free from my right hand when playing a game. T

he way you play games on the controller makes things simple so you just jump in and play without thinking about what you have to press. And the remote works just like a mouse that is in your hand.

As for Zelda, I can see myself playing this one over again. Hopefully there is some type of extra quest, or remix mode. If not Nintendo can always add it later through WiiConnect24. Oooo and I like the new villain, very different for a Zelda game. Dude reminds me of the Mouth of Sauron from Lord of the Rings.

So I got my Wii a few days ago and I've been really enjoying it...
Especially Zelda.

I just beat it today (33 hours without side quests) and it was pretty epic.
Wiryu already got a good review here so I won't repeat it here.
What I will say though that it's way harder than Wind Waker. I died a few times and fell off countless of cliffs. The bosses, though really cool to fight, are still easy to beat.
Controls are great and easy to pick up after a few hours with it. I had some problems between the shield attack and the spin attack. Sometimes I would gesture a shield attack and it would trigger a spin attack. Not that big of a deal but when you really want to do a shield attack when some big ass knight guy is attacking you and you do a spin attack instead is somewhat annoying.

But yea, I would totally pick up a Wii for Zelda.

Gonna use a Disney term here:
It's a magical game.

I give it 5 SCU's and a megaman.

we're supposed to be getting a Wii for work.
So we can mess around with the wireless thingy and see how it works.
How close AND how far away can you be in order for it to work?

Yeah. I'm trying to find the time to play through it again. The Sky Temple boss was so Shadow of the Colossus style. Epic. One of my favorite boss battles in the series.
