As many of you are already aware of, the new West Tower quest introduced a way to add percents to your weapons, any weapon that is(expect Sranks).

20 PD= +5%
1 Photon Sphere= +30%

The amount you can add to a weapon is not capped(100% is natural max). If you have 9 Photon spheres you can add +90% to three different attributes. With the in-game dupe bug that cannot be fixed(it's a natural bug in the game and can be done offline) this allows any gamer to alter ANY weapon they own with 100% to 3 different attributes. Using the in game dupe bug one can exploit this quest and create overpowered weapons, which aren't part of PSOs natural drop list(unless your the type of person who can beat the odds and win the lotto twice in a row).

Anyway, these weapons hurt the teamwork aspect of PSO and class balance. If anyone has played PSO ver1&2 you know the effect these weapons have on the community.

So on behalf of Apocalypse Tribe DO NOT USE these weapons online in ANY Apocalypse Tribe game room. I don't think there is any long standing AT member here who would disagree with keeping these weapon out of an AT game. It drains the fun out of PSO.
Offline is your own business, so do as you please, but online your only hurting whatever dignity PSO has left as an online game.

I completely agree with HC82. Please keep these extremely overpowered weapons in the bank. These "300%" weapons will be everywhere very soon, and I forsee the complete and utter destruction of all that is fair and honest gameplay. skullcross.gif

SHIT!!! fuckign hell sega are stupid. Sorry for my outburst of swearing but fuckign hell sonic team are so retarded and stupid. Back on the Dc it coulda been useful, as on DC i remember my RED SWORD+90, with 25% dark did about 300 damage on a Critical hit, and this is on my level 200 HUnewearl.... but on Gc theres no need for the uber-powerred weapons....

I already jacked up my bkb to 95d, so I guess I won't use said weapon in ruins online then. I somehow knew it was just a matter of time before this would rear its ugly head. Well... there goes the neighborhood.

Man, Sonic Team tries to do something to give some players Percentages on their weapons and the stupid gackers(my new term for hackers thanks to O.o at the arcade) ruin it for everyone. I don't blame ST for this as much as the Gackers but I do think they should have taken the present situation into consideration before they released this quest. According to the first post, dupers can copy these weapons and hand them out. I don't think I'm gonna be taking advantage of the rewards for this quest, I don't have any PDs anyway. ** One More Thing** Why the heck didn't Sega add any restrictions, the Max should have been either 100% to only one stat or 75% max to more than one, that would've been better than what Sega did. Ah, Skip it, Sonic Team should have thought hard about this before they decided to make it possible to make these super weapons.

granted, i'll keep this thread in mind; as of yet, i have not dealt with that aspect of PsO - perhaps that a good thing.. i just wanted to add the following - there is no stupidity here.. numerous quirks still pass by the very team that develop the software (in theory or practice..) even if debugged, tested & re-tested... such quirks are discovered by players of PsO, Sonic Team becomes aware of it & the newer versions shall (hopefully..) be remedied; despite this recent bug - i still acknowledge Sonic Team as being an inspirational video game development team.. ^.-

I have to agree. ST really fudged up this time. I really do not blame ST for trying to give us something cool to do, but with all the dupers out there it is too easy to get +300% weapons.

The reason behind requiring PSpheres and many PDs was that this was going to be a really pwerful way to alter your weapons, too bad PSpheres and PDs have been long time duped. I am going to stick with finding my own weapons that are dropped. I will keep the 300% on some cheasy weapons that I can have fun with palying solo.

I do have to agree that we need to keep these "altered" weapons out of our games. I won't be using any, I hope everyone else follows. I prefer waiting for that long awaited drop or item in the weapon shop to show up.

I forsee the complete and utter destruction of all that is fair and honest gameplay.

I think in someways, for the greater part of the online PSO community, this is already the case. Out of boredom and lack of c-mode teams, I joined several random open games yesteday, just for the hell of it, with these results:

Team 1 set my entry pipe in a smasher and greeted me with a chorus of LOLZ. Team 2 & 3 were talking about the duping method & trading, hitting me with trade windows full of the usual uber rares as soon as I arrived in town, with no preliminaries. Teams 4 & 5 that I actually played in were populated with people that used overpowered weps able to wipe out enemies before you could even get into the room & forces that have absolutely no idea how to play a force. There was no conversation outside of trade proposals, and no evidence of teamwork of anykind.

I might have meandered a bit off topic there, but my point is that, yes soon these new overpowered weps will be everwhere, but I don't think its really going to drag the general community down any further than it already is, and won't effect AT games at all. The AT community is based on people that enjoy playing PSO specifically for the aspects of teamwork and comradarie, and I have little doubt that anyone here would bother with using any of these new jacked up weps in one of our games.

I've decided that this will eb my oen niggle that i give into on PSOGC. i will only use my items offline, but i can't wait to see what my 100% spirit vulcans willbe like on my FO with 2200 TP. Nor can i wait to test my Berserk Vulcans 100 Dark (already 45, and i've always been trading for pdrops, and foind em regular, should get a P-sphere in no time) and 25 hit will be like on the special. What i'm most looking forward too tho i won't up the %'s on. I'm close to 50 hit materials now, and am goign to bundle them onto my HUcaseal, and hand over my 60/0/0/40 Hell Vulcans+9.... they should be quite fun if i boost my ATA and have max luck.... lol.

as for niggles i refuse to use are the TP trick (too much likethe dupign method to me) and the boss trick, for similar reasons. as this oemn is directly programmed into the game i will give in for offline, but i do think it's stupidity on sega's part.

I'm with Bryn. Teamwork across the servers left town quite a while ago. As long as we got our group here, I'm not worried about a thing. Plus, like I'm gonna find that many photon drops anyways. I usually just give em to peeps that want em. ^_^

*sigh* There goes open games. I always did enjoy them to see how long it took a bkb to show up, but I was sometimes able to meet some nice people. I swear Sega is run by monkeys, wtf were they thinking, do they know how easy it is to mass dupe, especially spheres?

This is like xbox without the banned items now ._.

Yeah. Just think about how it'll be when the XBox version gets this quest. Hopefully by then, ST will see some of the negative feedback concerning the outcome of some of the super weapons on this quest on the GC version and at least set some restrictions on the amount of %s added.

Xbox was like this from pretty much day 2.

"Ever see a Sange and Yasha with 100% on all stats? Ever see all the S-rank weapons laid out on the floor of P2 all with 200% on every stat.....and then your told to take what you want?"

Sega still loves us more, at least we get the new quests. Xbox doesnt even have ice spinner or a simple PD exchange yet beigebiggrin.gif

Actually, I have(to a point) and I hate it. Friends and the level of my XBox Characters are really the only reason why I haven't jumped ship and moved all of my operations back to the GC version. I currently play both the GC and XBox version but if I had to choose only one at the moment, due to the amount of content despite the new situation, I would have to pick the GC version.

I'm glad that we all agree to never use these 300% weaps in our online teams.

I can understand ST's intent with this quest when they originally planned it. Imagine how cool it would be if there were no dupes, and we had to use the PDs we earned, on the special weaps we found. On the same note, however, I can't believe that ST is totally blind to the fact that duping is rampant on GC, and that this would only add fuel to the fire of unbalanced gameplay. They must really be in a "don't give a damn" mindset about the quality of gameplay on PSO nowadays, because there has been zero (apparent) effort to fix it.
