Ah, I've probably never truly introduced myself, but...

I am an old PSOW-er, used to play an entire host of characters with the same last name: Hawke Altyr, Cronus Altyr, Kia Altyr and Elise Altyr. I started on v1 quite a long time ago, when PSOW was still seemingly new. I moved on to v2 and Ep2 as well, however, Ragnarok Online took over from then and now FFXI. I've also switched many forums, from PSOW to RO-World, to Game Time on ezboard, now the new Gaming Cow. To add to that, I am Veisryn's older brother and an old friend of Merodi.

If you were to ever find me online, I would be on FFXI or MSN Message, handle Horosha_Onikage.

Hmmm I think I'll spill my guts a little since some others seem to be doing it as well.

I have a very shady past filled with trouble and drama. I was once best friends with Shotie during the PSO v1 and v2 days. I once went by the handle QueenBee at Shotie's Arcade, PSOW and Gally's Omega Hour. After ditching my friendship with Watashiwa at PSOW, I caused all the trouble I could think of there lol. I was stupid and immature but you can't hide your past. I was also once voted(in a tie with Gally) the most annoying member at PSOW in one of Ness' stupid polls. From there I went on to be quite the bitch at The Arcade. I was banned and unbanned a number of times for a number of reasons, but I finally grew up and now I try to be as nice to people as I can and I try to be friends with anyone who will accept me.

As you can tell I now go by the handle JadeDragon. I have an obsession with Dragons and other things of fantasy. My newest love in life is the anime show on adult swim called Inuyasha. Man I love that show...lol. I played FFXI under the character named Versago, and I have recently decided that I will soon be ending my retirement from FFXI and will be returning very shortly. I am female(and I'm taken guys) and have recently posted a pic of myself in the picture thread. I am almost always available on AIM or through PM's.

I've been around for a little while now also.
Dive brought me over from the gamecow, and I haven't looked back. Weird how a one day a place can totally be your home and then the next "poof!" you never talk to any of them any more. I've tried a few other places, The Arcade, Dreamstation, shit.. even Nintendo, but none have held me like good ole' Apocalypse Tribe. I don't know what kinda stuff you put in the water Dive, but it works.
I am one of the few, maybe the only, who aren't playing FFXI. Why, you ask? No PC and no PS2! But, when TFLO comes out for the Xbox in September (October ?), I am so going to be there.

Like some of the others, whos names I am adding to my chat list, I am on AIM and MSN Messenger all day long ('net job). I'm always good for a chat about games and music equipment and stuff.

A certain Knight's Sword led me here (haha, sorry, bad joke.)
Dremstation was my first forum home, followed then by PSOw, then here. Each of these places has it's good points and people (though I definitely know the people at DS.cc more); I guess that's the whole point of this thread though, isn't it?

Well im the permanent local noob. There are still certain aspects to online stuff that I dont know about like wtf is IRC?Also since im a noob I dont have aim. MSN>me. PSO was.... is my first experience with anything online associated. Seem just like yesterday It was taking me like an hour just to type"WHAT RARE SI TAHT?" now I can I type it faster .

Also I have the brain capacity of a child which makes it very difficult for me to post at more then one forum. Somedays I feel like ----->(@.@;) SO it usually takes me some time to get things down pact. I stumbled on to this site like... somewhere this time last year.

Seriously though, I didn't really expect this fast of response. You guys kick ass! However, I'm not through with you yet. Now we move to phase #2. Next time you find yourself on AIM (or whatever client you use) and have a bit of free time on your hands, Instant Message someone that you haven't before! Whether it be a fellow FFXIer that you only conversed with vaguely in game, or someone that has been around the forums that you perhaps would like to get to know better. Most of you know me already so I won't bore anyone with the details. I like Mute's idea for a chatroom. A lot of chat does go on in the FFXI Linkshell, but having a discussion outside of the game would be a great way to include those who do not play FFXI.

Perhaps a weekly chatroom is in order?

However, I think it would be easier for most peeps if we just did the AIM idea. Buddy chats are super easy and super quick to access. :D

My name is Melody, or Merodi, as those in the AC know me. I used to play PSO back in the DC days. It was the reason I bought my DC (the first system I scrimped, saved, and paid for through my sweat and tears). I was a Phonewurl with my beloved Ravena. I played for many a day, till the BSOD took away my precious heartwand, and eventually, my will to play floated to other endearing games....

and then FFXI came along. Through coaxing on Erdwin's part, and the gift of the game through ShadowBuni, I came to the wonderful lil' fantasy world. And so I spend my time there.

As for the real me, I'm a girl who loves anime and video games. Not so much an obsession, but enough to enjoy what they provide in entertainment and escape from the daily stress and rigors of real life. I enjoy creating things, through all forms of art, but I tend to not give myself much credit for what I do. I love cutesy wutesy, I act cutesy wutes, and frankly, when I'm too short to fit the pre-teen aisle and have to settle on kid's osh kosh b'gosh wear, I should be afforded that darn luxury. But that doesn't mean I'm the pretty in pink type. I'm not fond of barbies and even less fond of pink. I like plushies, but steer clear of the make up aisle unless I'm forced to. Shopping is not my life. I'm weak because I'm small, but if I can open a pickle jar when you can't, I'll try to rub it in for just a little while. My first toy collection was a set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If it's morbid, I'm curious. If it's deranged or demented, I wonder. If you've seen Suicide Circle, you'll understand. I love cats and dragons, both of wish I had at this moment.

So anyways, that's a short glimpse of who Merodi is.

I tend to come off as very obnoxious and sarcastic at times, as well as blunt. Kaz once told me I don't know how to be subtle I don't know if I'd go that far, but it says something.

I'm pretty aggressive, too. I'm hardly cutesy, or giggly or cuddly. As I stated in quite a lot of detail, I despise girls like that because they're just there to fuel male ego, in my opinion. Until I injured my knee this winter, I was a martial arts student, which I plan to return to when I get my surgery. Until then, I plan to take archery up as a past time. I'm not there to make guys feel more masculine, which means that I won't act weak, stupid or overly feminine. In fact, I'm less feminine than most guys. This is something that I take pride in because I'm here to state my own opinions and develop my own mind, rather than attract people.

I'm a philosophy student, in hopes of one day becoming a professor. I like to open people's minds and I love to discuss abstract theories. Talking -- primarily debate -- is my utmost passion.

Some consider me insane, primarily because I've been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in the past, which means that I tend to anger easily. Sometimes this really affects my mood and I become difficult to deal with. This is not something I'm proud of :/

I also tend to be somewhat misanthropic, which makes it very weird that Dorian's been around for so long. Hehe. *eyes Dorian* But, he's cool. Maybe it's a sign that he's not one of the bad ones.

First a bit about Layrinn...

Layrinn first truly came to life as a HUnewearl waaaay back on DC PSO v.1. I guess that was something like three years ago, huh? I played her a little while on Dark Age of Camelot and a teensy bit on Earth & Beyond. When PSO ep 1&2 came out for the Game Cube, it was addiction all over again, as Layrinn once again hunted on the planet Ragol. (This is when I hooked up with the AT) Now, like most of her fellow former hunters, she's waging battle against the beastmen hordes on Vana'diel... with the same trusty friends by her side. ^^

'Rinn is the most in-depth and well defined character I have ever created... she has a life all her own. It would take far too much time to relate it all here. She's formed unbreakable bonds with those who have been there to experience it with her. (many of which have spilled over into real-life friendships for me) If I had to sum her up in a few short phrases, I would pick the short description I wrote on her PSO Guild Card:

Black haired beauty with a heart of gold. She's a lover and a fighter.


And now, a bit about me...

I recently moved from Virginia to Colorado where I am attending grad school, studying robotics to earn my master's degree in Electrical Engineering. I like what I'm studying, but it's a lot of hard work. I work as a graduate teaching assistant to support myself while I'm in school. For the last two semesters, this has entailed teaching several electronics labs... if you ever hear me say I gotta go teach, that's what I'm off to do. (Professor 'Rinn! ;p) It's been a surprisingly enjoyable experience for me, and actually has me considering teaching as something to do for a living, although I'd prefer to be in a more design oriented role.

My hobbies include gaming, (duh) fast cars, and electronics. I'm fairly skilled at all kinds of technical stuff... everything from electronic gadgetry to some serious automotive projects. I'm just as "at home" online in FFXI as I am hunched over an oscilloscope or an engine bay. ^^ Every now and then, I get a creative itch.. and I like to scratch it by working on computer illustrations or 'Rinn-oriented fan fiction. You can find several examples of both if you dig around these forums a bit. (In fact, this would be a good way to get to know some of the more subtle details of 'Rinn's persona) There's also an elusive picture of me floating around here somewhere. ;)

Oh yeah... and I'm totally freakin' in love with the rock group Dream Theater. There is no one better... don't even try. ;p


I'm always up for a chat. I have two PCs set up, so even when I'm playing something online I still have AIM and MSN up. (my contact info is in my profile) So... if I'm home and I'm awake, chances are excellent that I'll be available to talk. ^^ I think the idea of a group chat is awesome. I came around the middle of last year, by then I had been playing with the verious members of AT on the GC PSO for a while and been PSO since Ver 1 on the Dreamcast. I'm staff/mod over Dreamstation.cc (man way to many children there now). Now I've moved on to FFXI, sadly havn't played PSO since, but I had a fun 3 years playing it.
