So I was wondering, what's everyones all time faovrite video game? Mine has to be a series of games. The Zelda series to be exact. I must have played and beat a link to the past about 1 billion times. And it never gets old.
The Boomerang has to be the best weapon in that game!
ALL HAIL LINK!!
So what's yours?

"Link, he come to town
Come to save the Princess Zelda
Ganon took her away
Now the children don't play
But they will when Link saves the day
Hallelujah!
Now Link, fill up your hearts
So you can shoot your sword with power
And when you're feeling all down
The fairy will come around
So you'll be brave, and not a sissy coward
Now Link has saved the day
Put Ganon in his grave
So now Zelda is free
And now our hero shall be
Link! I think your name shall go down into history"
..

hehehe :D

My fav is the Final Fantasy series as a whole...with FF7 being the king, the champ, the most amazing, best game ever...

"Oh my hero... so far away now."
That scene among others, makes Final Fantasy VI (US 3) the greatest game in my eyes.

Like Camulus, my favorite game is a series; Command & Conquer, I played every game from Red Alert, to Tiberian Sun, over and over. Plenty of good times I had with those games.
Hell I used to visit the old Westwood studios here in Vegas when I had the chance, I got free rare game soundtracks even.

So hard to choose...
So I won't! But I do like:
WarCraft series <- I'm really good at it too... offline...
Zelda series <- Except Wind Waker... drives me nuts
Legend of Dragoon <- I need to kick myself for selling this one later
I agree with the boomerang being the best weapon ever.

I'm not much of a gamer (I know, that's blasphemy on these forums). So, I'd have to say that my "all-time favorite" game would be Final Fantasy: Tactics. I liked the allegorical storyline, setting the clergy up as the real enemy, though that particular theme has been done so many times in literature, it's practically cliche. Anyway, I liked the entire Final Fantasy series, with the exception of 10, and I didn't even bother getting X-2. Neither the storyline, nor the characters, were captivating enough to do it for me. And Yuna sucks! I can't decide who I hate more: her, Aeris or Selphie. Hehe. I guess all the games have their own, ficitonal whiner. I've really gotten into PSO3. Fun game :D
Also, sadly, my first Zelda is the Gamecube's Windwaker, and I love it so far.
Sorry, I was more of a comic geek growing up :D That, and my parents hid my video games when they got mad. Hehehe.

How could I forget about FF Tactics? I was crazy about that game a while back.
I remember raising up an insane army of summoners and bards that I wanted to send after the final boss. Altima raped me :(

I like a lot of games...but I have to admit that the two series I do stick with more than any are the Suikoden and Harvest Moon games ^.^

Let me see here. I think I have way too many to mention:
Armored Core
Seiken Densetsu/Secret Of Mana
Final Fantasy
Metroid
Legend Of Zelda
Mega Man Series (I mean, practically all of it.)
R-Type
Gradius
RayGunner/RayStorm/RayCrisis
Castlevania
Breath of Fire
Dragon Warrior/Quest
I can't really rank any of those above the rest, I love 'em all equally.

So many consoles. So many titles. It's a scary thought to think I've been gaming for nearly 15 years now. These topics always make me draw a blank. I can never really come up with an absolute favorite because many of them provide such different experiences. Likewise, NES games can't compare to today's caliber of game (or lackof

). I suppose it's all about what you enjoy while you play it. Hell, I'd resent myself if I didn't mention the NES versions of Castlevania and Ninja Gaiden. I played them religiously when I was younger and still give them a run every now and then for kicks. However, as times have changed, much deeper experiences such as your favored RPGs came along and sucked me right up as well. I, for one, was captivated by Final Fantasy II (US) when it came out for the SNES. Final Fantasy III (US) was completely awesome as well. I could go on and on through the series of consoles, but I'd rather not just spat a bunch of random games. But instead of being so indecisive, I'll throw one out there that's probably unexpected. One of my all time favorites has to be Duck Tales on NES. And no I'm not kidding, I must've played that thing through a million times over. For action, this game was definately a must. Especially if you watched the T.V. show back in the day.

PSO Episode 1. Hands down no contest. (or is that just a given? haha) I don't think I'll ever enjoy any other game as much as I did this one.

Barring that, I'd have to say Knights of the Old Republic - the game that broke my PSO addiction, and FFVII - the game that led me into the world of RPGs.

I have been thinkning about this thread for over a week now and I am still having troubles coming up with an all time favorite.
Like Bryn said though, I would have to be blind if I didn't say that PSO was one of them though. I have never, ever spent that much time on anything. Most of the tim ewas spent playing the game too, and not just lobby chatting.

I really got in to all of the Sonic games too. I almost own them all, except the newest one. Not sure why I haven't picked it up yet. I just love that little blue blur. Hell, I even own 90% of the little toys and figures that came out (plushies included). I remember when I bought the Genesis. I loved it because it seemed "tougher" or something that the NES. And Sonic kicked Mario's ass all over! Then again, there is that Tails guy... hehehe.
Another genre of games I love are the horror survival games. I have to sa, though, that I completely suck at them. I am forever running out of bullets and I always get hit by whatever it is that I am trying to avoid. Still, I love them. Blame it on my mom for taking me to horror movies when I was eight. :D

PSO most definitely. Never spent so much time on a single game. Final Fantasy IV would have to be a close second, as it was what really got me into RPG's.

well if we go by how many hours ive spent on a game PSO (all versions) would have to def be #1 for me...
i also really enjoyed FFX... especially since its the last rpg that i actually put over 50 hours in and actually beat
man i bought so many rpgs.. just to stop playing after 10 or so hours because i got a new game..lol ( skies of arcadia legends, xenosaga, ffx-2, kotor)
but i also miss and loved FFXI.. i had to quit because all my friends were either getting to far ahead or to far behind.. a lot stopped playing... and then pso eps 3 came out.. so ive taken a 2 month break...

Man,so many games...Panzer Dragoon Saga was incredible,i love all the Shining Force games a lot,the first Lunar on the Sega CD was awesome, just like the first FF on the PS1,and of course over 1000 hours on PSO...so i'll go with something different, something that had everything in it but all done and mixed together in an awesome package, even an anime style at times and a comic book feel and one of the first game to have voice-overs:
Snatcher for the Sega CD.

Another vote for PSO....without a doubt, no other game has ever captured me like that one did.
One from WAY back when...that I played all the time and still have cravings to experience again...Star Raiders, on the Atari. *grin* (told ya I'm old)
Lately? The other two that I loved and spent every free moment playing...Skies of Arcadia (both on the DC, which is my all time favorite console, and on the NGC as Skies of Arcadia Legends), and Kingdom Hearts, mainly because that one took two of my passions (FF games and Disney) and combined them in such a seamless, inventive, inspiring way. I am SO looking forward to the next ones in that series.

Just a random list for me:
FFX, FF8, FFX-2, FF6, The Simpsons (arcade), X-Men (6 player arcade), NiGHTS, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, PSO (DC and ep 1+2), Guardian Heroes, Kingdom Hearts, Super Smash Bros Melee, Zelda 64.
Hmm, I have more, but I sadly forgot them ^^:

Nyn, maybe you and I should have an "old games that we loved that make us feel old" contest!
We could show these lil' uns a thing or two about some 4 bit madness!
Hell... what about those days when it was like...
"Hey, what's that '@' sign for?"
"Oh, that's me. See that "%"? That's a dragon!"

LOL! In my house, my kids..well, mainly my son as my daughter moves into the terrible teen years...LOVE the old games. I have SO many...Pong (in the original box, thank you) included...and I can't tell you how funny it is to watch my kids play the new games to GET to the "old games". Animal Crossing for the NES games, Pac Man World for the many versions of that, Shenmue for the Hang On and other ones in the arcade, it's beyond funny. You want to feel old, share these games with your kids and their friends...although I admit it IS fun to beat their asses each time...*evil giggle*
My son still doesn't believe that the first RPG/Adventure games we played were words only. Hunt the Wumpus, anyone? "I smell a wumpus!!" AUGH!!! Or how about the first real graphics ones...Kings Quest for example. "Go Right". *snickers* "Open door". "Look east"
How far we've come, huh?
Of course now you realize I have to go find a copy of Star Raiders... *sigh* AND find a cable to hook the Atari 2600 up to my tv, my sister-in-law lost it! *pouts*
