Full Version: 3-forum tournament?
Apocalypse Tribe HQ > Diversions > Phantasy Star

I was sitting around, looking at my card collection, and multiples, and I thought about holding a large, three-forum, tournament. I don't really have a clue how it will be run, but I would just like to know if anyone would participate in it. After I get people's confirmation, I will then start to form the tournament format and rules, based on the number of people willing to join.

I would just like to know if this would be a good idea, how many people would play in this, and I would like to have one person per forum to help out.

Right now, I only have 2 sites in mind, this was one of them. the other is up in the air, if anyone has any ideas. I was thinking about either the Sega boards (x.X) or PSOW (X.X)

I don't mind but I don't know how you're gonna deal with all those people from those forums. It was hard enough to keep order for the Hobo Cup (at least for me hehe).

I would prefer we do not deal with either psow or the sega boards in this manner. This is a small independant site and I do not want to have to deal with the extra exposure from those massive sites. Can you imagine the kind of players who might drift in here from psow?

I don't have a problem with what DJ Donkey and AC9breker organized, as the affilliate forums were relatively small. This is not a commercial site like Sega.

Thanks for the idea though, ideas are always appreciated.

Here, here, Mr. Dive.
Alot of us PSO'ers are x-psow people.
I RAN as fast as I could from that nightmare over a year ago and would like to keep as far away from there as possible.

About the tournament... Is there a way to let in the lower level people, like myself? I am like lvl 3 online or something. If so, I might be interested. I would have to reactivate my HL though, but I've been thinking about doing it anyway.

Well, heh, I was hoping not to go with PSOW or something, I guess I won't. The other site I posted this at is a gaming community site www.tfagaming.com , and people there are good people. I'm hoping for The Arcade to come back up so I can post this there.

As for dealing with the people at each site, I was thinking of having a represenative, of sorts, to be at each site and take care of the entries in thier respective areas, while I handle the tournament as a whole. I'm still stirring things around in my head, mianly thinking of a date..

I agree~~~
If you think some of the stuff that drifted our way as a result of FFXI and "world pass"...it can get much worse.

Did you think of GC or VM for sites that could be asked to join in with this event? I think maybe GC is a good choice. Relatively small and well behaved (more mature) players (I hope).

Gaming Cow and VoodooMoose.

That would be cool. I would love an organized event like this that I could participate in. teleport.gif

But actually if you need help with it, I would be willing to help. I think you should go with the Hobo Cup research when planning this tourney and use the same day and time(Saturday around 10ish in the eveningEast coast time). Since the turnout seemed to be real good.

Also I thought Bilix's rules of N cards only was great. It would really make the matches even. I would really like to see more stuff on this tournament you wanna hold. beigesmile.gif
