Full Version: Will you get X-Box PSO?
Apocalypse Tribe HQ > Diversions > Phantasy Star
Dive
I am undecided so far, most likely not, as there is nothing new besides voice chat. Being unable to play with non-US players is pretty lame too. Voice chat would have been interesting though.

I don't have an Xbox so the easy answer is no, but if I did then the only reason I would get the Xbox version would be if they added more rares, a new difficulty level ( Insane mode ) and a new epsiode area to play in, because its not really worth to me if it doesn't have those.

Bleh... I am leaning heavily towards "no". I am totally not excited by the notion of voice chat. Especially given the fact that I enjoy role-playing my *female* characters. My voice is definitely not suited for that task. beigeroll.gif

Besides that fact... like Dive said, there's nothing new. Why should I spend another $40 and start all over just to play the same game I already have? I do feel, however, that PSO on the Xbox has a lot more potential than it does on the cube. Since everyone is on broadband, it is possible that the servers will be more stable and less laggy. The hard drive could cut down on the annoying save times and opens up the possibility of significant downloadable content. Patches, new maps, and stuff like that... Of coure, the chances of SonicTeam getting off its ass to actually take advantage of any of this are beyond slim.

So... the bottom line is this: I will continue playing the GC version until I'm blue in the face. If, after some time goes by, it seems like the Xbox version really is better in some significant way, then I will consider switching. Ultimately, my decision will be mostly determined by which platform the majority of my favorite people to play with are on. There's pretty much no chance I'll have the time, money, or inclination to actually play on both versions, so it's gonna have to be one or the other.

I've put too much time, and too many cool people are on GC PSO for me to change at this time. Unless gamecube PSO gets completely fucked over by crazy PK CK stuff like the DC days (not likely) then I think I will endure GC PSO until the next version comes out beigesmile.gif

Nothing new, plus no Xb00x, plus no cable/DSL, plus I am NOT paying if I decide to play offline only for a while.

So, nope. bash.gif

I don't have BB, or an Xbox, or the to need to restart all my characters. Plus like Crush, I met to many good people to leave behind.

Pretty much a No in this case. mog.gif

No box for me. Lack of hardware, lack of interest. Like the rest of you, I don't feel inclined to start over on what is practically the same game.

I don't own an XBox, nor will I be getting one just for PSO. However, if PSO 2 becomes a reality, and it's only gonna be on XBox (or perhaps a new system equilvalent) then I'll probably bite the bullet and pick one up. guns.gif

I have the feeling that Sonic Team will sqeeze out one more PSO "expansion" on GC and Xbox before they make a real PSO2, and that will probably be on next-gen hardwars (PS3, Xbox2, etc).

my naswer is n....for many a reason:

price: £49 a year, and £9 a month for PSO
Broadband: i lack this luxury
Hacking: the possibility for hackign is very high, all you need a is a linux and your done pretty much, except for the connecty cables.
Current hackign: On the JP version it's already been hacked so you can create items, FTP your character(very effective duping method currently), if you can do the programming trickery, whihc a lot of XB user do, because they are microsoft nuts who loev programmign and stuff, they've already done thigns so you can make every item a red box, and they've coem up with PK already.......

GC may have adupe bug on it, that anyone who knows how can do, but at least it doesn't have the problems that the XB has, and potentially can have.

Even with the current my lack of broad band, I think I was actually undecided up untill today.

On one hand its pretty much the exact same game on a different system. On the other hand it's more PSO (which is something to be aquired and assimilated beigebigrazz.gif). But, after reading a thread on PSOW regarding XBox Live etiquette I realized that voice chat throws an entirely different dynamic into PSO that I really don't want to be a part of.

I guess I'll have to get used to the idea of voice chat if an XBox Live game comes out that I absolutely have to have, but for now.........nope, not for me. beigesmile.gif

Amen to that. I get the heebee-geebees bad enough thinking of what I would have to put up with being a guy who likes to role-play his female characters. I can only imagine you would get it ten times worse.

Dorky 13 year old boy after hearing Bryn speak: "OMG, are you really a girl?!?!? Are you hawt? Where do you live?"
Bryn: *quits game and runs away screaming*

yeeaaaahh... I'll stick with the keyboard, thanks. Even if by some freakish chance I do end up playing PSO on the Xbox, you can bet that my mic will stay muted and people will just have to put up with reading what I have to say.

Being a HUcast fan, I could've probably made myself sound like one of the Transformers. I got the voice for it, and the voice masking would make it even cooler.
