Full Version: I'm getting an X-Box!

Well, I've finally decided to purchase an X-Box. I've heard alot of great things about some games, but I'm not sure which ones to choose. Does anyone know of any good games to keep me busy for a while? I'm into fighting and shooting games mostly, but I'm willing to try anything. Also, which X-Box Live! games are actually worth getting if anyone knows?

I don't have an X Box, but if I did have one I'd have 3 games for sure. Ninja Gaiden, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and Capcom VS SNK 2. Gaiden is damn fun (and hard), I'm a huge Panzer Dragoon fan and Orta is a great addition, and playing CvS2 online is the SHIT. In all honesty...I can't think of anything that I actually like outside of that, but that's just me. >_>

I would reccomend Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. Probably one of the most impressive visual games out right now. Not to mention a perfect control and camera setup. Similiar to Metal Gear Solid, the game sets you up in situations where you must use stealth to complete the objectives.

X-Box live support is included in the form of excellent online scenarios where you assume the role of either "Spies" or "Mercenaries" versus other players. A departure here is that when you choose a Spy, you play the game from the standard single player "third person" viewpoint, whereas if you take on the role of a Merc, you get the "First Person" viewpoint. Each class gets their own bag of goodies to outwit and defeat the other team. Online games can be played with two players on each side, with a multitude of rule sets and maps with more on the way.

Good stuff.
I wanna grab an X-box eventually. Probably gonna get one later this year. It does depend on a few things. When the next-gen consoles come out, I almost always wait a year(the starting titles are usually sub-par). During that waiting time period, I'll probably pick up an X-box for dirt cheap and get all the games dirt cheap to last the year.

Sudeki is coming out next week and it looks awesome.Get Knights Of the Old Republic if you didn't play it on PC yet,it's awesome.Ninja Gaiden is also great but very hard and i mean throw your controller hard but you will be back at it a few hours later,it's that good.Morrowind Game of the Year Edition is also pretty amazing and Chronicles of Riddick is an amazing FPS/Action adventure also.

Try and find out what DVD drive is in the XBox you will get,try to avoid the "Thomson" drive, the best one is a Samsung drive.
Crushinator
If you're looking for good XBL action, pick up Crimson Skies (I think it comes free with the XBL starter kit now, even). Its a great arcade-style flight shooting game, and tons of fun online.

Project Gotham Racing 2 is also serious fun on XBL, if you're a fan of arcade type racing, you can't pass it up.

I also can't get enough of Sega's JSRF and Crazy Taxi 3, but I know a lot of people would disagree with me on the quality of these titles beigelaugh.gif

People have already mentioned a bunch of my XB faves, Morrowind, KOTOR, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and Ninja Gaiden.

Another great game that you can pick up on the cheap is Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. I know its on other platforms too, but the XB version has been marked down to $10 or less at some places, and its a really solid and overlooked action shooter.

You know, I was all hyped for this game... then I played the demo on the new issue of OXM. I was really dissapointed.

MechAssault is really fun. Great explosions. Live enabled also.
Halo is a must buy also. I am surprised no one mentioned that before.
I'm a big fan of rally racing and both Colin McRae 4 and Rallisport 2 are excellent.
You like scary games? Silent Hill 2 is way cool.
