I can't seem to seem to log on to FFXI now that I moved to NJ and am at school. I F&*King Hate firewalls!!!!

There is most likely a way to turn off your firewall. If you use a router, there is options that let you bypass firewalls, too.

still trying. I have the ports open on my firewall and the program is allowed to access the Inet, but I just can't log on to playonline. Maybe I'll just give up and reinstall the whole program. poop

I get free trains to the city for a little while longer too. so we should definately meet up. I know how to get to mid-town and to jfk, anywhere other than that and I'll need directions. Omar do you take the Morris & Essex line to the city as well? I'm down for some good times in the big city!!

I found out today that the network admin has somehow blocked all the Inet access for all programs except browsers. My thoughts now are that I need to find a proxy server that I can use to get out. Frick this place is like being in jail. I guess that they did it because they had a huge problem w/ kazaa and other p2p programs. shit I can get all the porn that I can eat but I can't log on to an online game!!! I'm f-ing pissed I pay 32K to got to this school and I'd like to be able to play a game if I'm done with my homework and have some free time. Sorry for the rant. I need a beer.

you could try asking around to see if anyone has an independent wireless network (or wired...but your best bet is wireless) that you can just pay into. If it's that important to you.
Seems odd they would disable p2p file transfers. I use FTP all the time in getting my papers from home (where I have no printer) to school, where there are printers and acrobat...thingy majig...that'll create PDFs for you.

so the latest news from the armpit of america, I have gotten a http tunnel and a program tha will run POL through a socks server but now I can't log on to the SLL authentication to reactivate my characters. so close but so far. I can't wait to get back in it with you all
