As some of you may know, the original Superman, Christopher Reeve died yesterday at 52 after a well-fought battle with paralysis.

He died yesterday from an infection caused by a bedsore then later went into cardiac arrest. He became paralyzed in 1995 after a horse riding accident. He was also a big spokesperson for spinal cord research. You may have also seen Christopher Reeve in "Somewhere in Time" and old 1980 movie and he made a recent appearnce a couple years back on the WB's hit show "Smallville".

Not been a good week for Hollywood stars. First Rodney and now Superman.

This man did so much for spinal chord injury research. He was amazing. He offered up himself in most cases as a human guinea pig to test new ideas. I can only hope that he set up some sort of foundation to keep it all going.

a subject that is a touchy one...i will say that this individual is far braver than i would have been if i had to experience such a fate; i would have asked for death, without question..

hmmm.. --;

his bravery, to endure such hardship, has earned my respect for him...may his next existence be blessed with good fortune & health..

Yea, sad to see him go. I once saw an interview with him where he said that he is greatful for what happened to him 'cause of howi t was able to benifit the world.

Damn...that's such sad news...especially since he never got to walk again...I remember watching those superman movies when I was younger, and wishing to be just like that. So I feel pretty down after finding out that he passed away. Here's to you in heaven Christopher Reeve... toast.gif
